I have a can of this formula and the label lists Crude Protein as 9%. Can you guys verify protein from an actual label?

Answer by ChewySep 17, 2019
This recipe has a crude protein content of 11%.

On the FirstMate website this formula contains NO chicken. The can of this I bought locally also contains NO chicken, according to the label. Is this nutritional information correct? Is this a different formula? I think my cat is allergic to chicken.

Answer by ChewyMay 04, 2022
This Formula does not contain chicken products.

The freshness and smell

Jackson loves this food. He has severe food allergies and this limited ingredient food has helped tremendously. I use it with kibble and his allergies are now limited

All natural ingredients - no fillers

I feel good about giving my pup this human-grade food which contains no gums or additives or weird stuff. It's a very clean and simple formula. What's also great

I feel good about giving my pup this human-grade food which contains no gums or additives or weird stuff. It's a very clean and simple formula. What's also great is that Firstmate canned wet food works for both dogs and cats. I called the company, and they verified that they add extra taurine to meet the needs of cats, which is also okay for dogs. (A lot of grain free dog food does not contain enough taurine, which has caused deleterious health issues.) I give this great quality food to both the canine and feline members of my family - though the cats prefer the chicken formula.

Both Dogs thought it was Fantastic

Bought this to use as a topper. My pugs have allergies for everything. So, unfortunately, I might have to try a different flavor. When I first got the canned Turkey

Bought this to use as a topper. My pugs have allergies for everything. So, unfortunately, I might have to try a different flavor. When I first got the canned Turkey flavor, these dogs went nuts. They both loved the flavor and we have gone through most of the cans already. They have skin issues, so, I usually get salmon for everything. The last few weeks of feeding was rough, so I got this brand as I have to buy LID food. They couldn't swallow it fast enough and I laughed at how quickly they licked it up. I think I will try the Salmon flavor to see how they do on it. Too bad they don't sell it in a 6 pack so I could alternate it between Turkey and Salmon. I would recommend it to anyone. It seems watery, but if you take a spoon and mix up the meat into the broth, it really isn't as watery as you might think. Especially, when you refrigerate it and use it again. It's almost like it swells up after mixing it. I mix it up no matter what portion is left in the can. It evenly distributes the liquid and the meat so they love it. Hope this helps.
