Fluker's Crafted Cuisine Aquatic Turtle Food does sink.

Does this need to be kept refrigerated?

Answer by ChewyJan 10, 2022
This turtle food must be refrigerated after opening.

How big are the pieces of this food? Would I be able to hand feed this?

Answer by ChewySep 06, 2022
They're mostly in a "ball form" and are a couple centimeters long. It would depend on your pet on if you would be able to handfeed or not.

Looks like poop

My two Red Bellied Turtles are voracious eaters. Although both are still considered juveniles, those girls love to eat. The food looks like their bowel movements. They're smart and finish every crumb left on the aquarium's floor, but avoid their poop. And now avoid this as well.

So I have 2 turtles 1 yellow belly slider 13 years old . As well African side neck about maybe 4 or 6 years old. My yellow belly loves this food but she’s also not really much of a picky eater. My African side neck hates These ignores them. From experience turtles can be very picky eaters which is why those that are. Will be more prone to getting sick with vitamin A deficiency. Which cause many health issues in turtles tht can lead to swollen eyes , ear issues and respiratory issues. Word of advice if your turtle has cloudy eye /eyes or swollen shut take to the vet. Vitamin A a shot helped my African side necks eyes with in like 3 days. We’re about 85% better than after like a week 100% . Some vets will choose another method like cream ointment for yhe eyes but did not work for my turtle. Also don’t give them to much vitamin A to eat because to much of it can actually get them sick. They just need enough to stay healthy

I bought this because it is "vet formulated" and assumed it would be healthier than what is offered at the pet store. Upon first offering my turtle these pellets, he turned up his nose and never investigated them any farther. Not even a nibble. I offered them several other times thinking he would get use to them but it has become clear that he is not impressed, so neither am I. Ended up having to give them away. Just wasn't right for my guy apparently!
