Answer by ChewyMar 19, 2019
This product is a syringe type used to administer medications and pills to dogs of all size breeds. To use, simply pull back the plunger, insert the pill, place the syringe into the dogs mouth, and press the plunger to eject the pill towards the back of their throat.

Will this work for pills that are square or do they have to be round? I have a German Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd that do not like taking their monthly meds.

lets face it. we are here because our animals are pains at pilling. no matter what you stick down their throat they will fight and wiggle and cause unintended teeth nips on your fingers. this works in that it saves your hands but its very thick and large and the dog will fight it like usual. it works with small and large pills. i did like that one reviewer said in (such an unneeded smug way) to keep the blue plastic shipping tube that comes on the plunger. place that bit on the pronged part to store, it will keep the prongs tight

We have a small dog, so most pills have to be cut into quarters. The opening of the pill dispenser is sometimes too big for the smaller pieces. Also, the opening is kinda rough, so if my dog is especially unhappy about getter her pill, I fear it might scratch the inside of her mouth. I think it could be improved to be more adaptive and softer for doggos' sensitive mouths.

Way to enormous for any cat

This product is marketed for cats and dogs. But it's huge, and any pill for a cat will fall right out. Unfortunately, I missed the return window.

Good Pill Gun

I'm great with giving pills but had to buy this as my one year old cat is tough to pill. This makes my job much easier.

Nice dispenser

Didn’t work for our cat. His pills were too small. I’m certain this would be indispensable for giving large pills. Just did’t work for us.

Tea is now 17 years old and must take a pill twice a day. This pill dispenser delivers the pill to the back of the mouth helping her to swallow it more easily. I saw another post that suggested the blue spacer on the plunger be used to cover the opening to maintain the shape which works really well. I have tried other brands, but this is the only one that worked for me.

This was my 2nd try in looking for a pill dispenser. One customer said to keep the band at the top of the plunger to wrap around the end that holds the pill. I have used this several times, always replacing the band on the end. This keeps the plastic tight enough for any size pill. I removed the band, place the pill into the end and push the plunger. My kitty doesn't have a clue what just happened! Very pleased!

This will not work for me because I give a half of a small pill. The packaging should specify that the opening will only hold large pills. I have tried to push the prongs closer but it won't stay. I basically just tossed my money in the garbage with this purchase. I'm extremely disappointed.
