Is this a syringe type device? How does it work? The device is 8"long is it good to work on small dogs? does the applicator have to go into the dogs throat?

This product is a syringe type used to administer medications and pills to dogs of all size breeds. To use, simply pull back the plunger, insert the pill, place the syringe into the dogs mouth, and press the plunger to eject the pill towards the back of their throat.
Does using this dispenser keep gel pill from getting stuck in throat?

This dispenser is reusable.
Will this work for pills that are square or do they have to be round? I have a German Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd that do not like taking their monthly meds.

LARGE and Loose

I received the product in broken packaging, but the product seemed in-tact. I purchased it for administration of pills to a difficult cat. This thing is HUGE. It is about 1/4" at the application end. Further, there is NO WAY this could hold onto a pill, especially a small pill for a cat. It would just drop out the end. I tossed it as I've got too much on my hands to bother returning it. I ended up purchasing an entirely different product.

Doesn't work

Hey bought to give pills to my dog. The pills were relatively small A smaller than an aspirin and they would not fit in the device. I mean the pills would have been smaller than a pee to work in this device. Totally worthless

Not quite as expected. Lukewarm review.

It has to be modified to actually push the pill out, and dog is more wary of it (runs like heck...maybe vet used it in the past) than my fingers with a pill...HOWEVER, it promises to prevent hand injury if I can get good at it.

This pill popper really didn't work out for us. It didn't hold small pills and really wasn't that good for larger ones either.

Never used it yet but looks promising if need arises.

Cat is taking the med in his food so never needed to use pill dispenser. This one looks a little bit large, however

TERRIBLE !

This 'thing' is too big for my 74lb dog! When he sees it he fights it way more than the little pill. Also, it is to big for a smaller pills or capsules. I have to say, I can't imagine this working for someone... (considering they travel to Moon, Mars...etc. making people into what they want to be...they would already come up with better solutions for these types of things...)

Not good for smaller, halved pills

On the whole, this is a well-designed contraption. However, it appears to have been made for administering larger pills than the sort needed by my cats. Because of cats' smaller size, they are often prescribed half of a pill as a dosage, and a half pill is difficult to keep held in this tool. The halved pills fall out easily, making it clumsy and hard to use with a struggling cat. But at least it keeps our fingers from being bitten, so hurray for that.

Too large for cats

The dispenser was too large for a pretty average sized cat pill. It got stuck and wouldn’t move at all. I should have read reviews before I bought it. Could only work for much larger pill
