The post is not designed to swap the top and bottom.

What do I have to do to put it together? Is the pole one piece and I only have to screw into base, or is the pole in two pieces. I can never seem to get two piece items tight enough when the item is tall.

Just the right height. Cat uses everyday

My cat Benny uses this post several times a day. He is a long cat so the height works just great for him. I put it on a stair landing and he uses it every time

My cat Benny uses this post several times a day. He is a long cat so the height works just great for him. I put it on a stair landing and he uses it every time he goes up and down the stairs. We had the exact same one that was about 4 years old that he finally wore out the sisal on. The new replacement is the exact same quality with no changes to the design which I appreciate. Highly recommend. Both came from Chewy.

Calvin is a long cat and the scratching post is had was short. It looked like he'd break his back when using it. I bought this one for the height and so he could petch on top. He loves it!! Now, we xall him Crazy Calvin because he has his own pint system because he's so destructive. The overall post gets a 10 on the Calvin proof scale with 10 being excellent. However, the little ball at the top gets a 1 on the Calvin proof scale because it didn't last an hour before he killed it. This in no way relates to the product because it's great. It's just our funny way of showing how crazy he is.

It’s a keeper!

No hesitation from my cat to get started scratching on this post. It took me about 5 minutes to put it together, surprised how sturdy it was, relieved there weren’t

No hesitation from my cat to get started scratching on this post. It took me about 5 minutes to put it together, surprised how sturdy it was, relieved there weren’t fumes of any kind. I’m a little disappointed that I can see and feel the staples used to construct parts of it. I hope they don’t interfere with her scratching. This is our first scratching post so as our first we’re pretty happy with it.

So happy with this item. I’m trying to break my cat’s habit of scratching doorframes. I think she likes being able to stretch her whole body on the doorframe. That’s why this scratching post is perfect. Tall enough for her to strettttch on her tippy toes! She loves it. So far so good, she has been scratching the doorframes a lot less.

Really sturdy, cat approved

This was touted as being very sturdy. I wondered if the round base would be, but it really is. No sooner did I get it assembled (easy to do), than my 12-pound cat

This was touted as being very sturdy. I wondered if the round base would be, but it really is. No sooner did I get it assembled (easy to do), than my 12-pound cat stretched up and had several good scratches with nary a wobble. He even climbed up a bit. No problem. So, as advertised and seems worth the price. My furniture appreciates this.

Maybe my cat is too old?

My 12 yr old cat destroyed his old much smaller cat scratcher so I thought he would love this tall sturdy one after reading about recommedations on type and height

My 12 yr old cat destroyed his old much smaller cat scratcher so I thought he would love this tall sturdy one after reading about recommedations on type and height. Well he rarely will use it :( . He seems to like how he could attack and destroy his cheaper smaller one. It's been a month but hopefully he will start to enjoy it soon. It really is well made.

They are made well and don't tip over when the cats are scratching on them. They were easy to put together. I would highly recommend purchasing.
