Questions & Answers

5 Customer Questions

What type of glue should be used that is safe for cats? Is there more than one that you can use?

Answer by ChewySep 07, 2024
When repairing a cat scratcher using this sisal replacement rope with glue, it's essential to use non-toxic glue for pets' safety.

How do you apply it?

Answer by ChewyAug 03, 2024
With this rope and some glue (sold separately), you can replace the sisal rope on your pet's scratching posts. How the rope is applied is up to the buyer's discretion.

Where do I find the glue?

Answer by ChewySep 14, 2024
This brand does not currently offer glue for this product. The best type of glue to use for securing the replacement rope is a strong adhesive, such as non-toxic wood glue or hot glue. These options are effective for attaching the sisal rope securely to the scratching post.

What is the length of 1 order?

Answer by ChewyJul 24, 2024
This sisal rope is 33 feet long.

The twine is ok, it would be better if there was more of it. I guess I underestimated how far 33 feet would get me. It only covered half of one small scratching post (24 inches tall). I'll need to buy another pack of rope to finish the job. At $10 a package, that gets expensive! I have several cat trees that I was going to re-wrap with new twine, but I'll have to rethink that. It would actually be more cost effective to just buy a new tree.

I was thrilled to see that my order came in smaller boxes. Much more manageable. I didn't have to open the boxes on the porch and take the items inside, one by one. With the new box size, I was able to bring the boxes inside in tact. It might not seem like a big thing but I was a huge help

Cheaper than buying a new cat tree

The item is good, easy to apply but you have to tie a knot into its self at the end to keep it from falling apart

I wish I had bought two--but I didn't know how much yardage I would have needed. I needed to fill an 18 inch tall wooden stand (it is actually a bit taller but has carpeting on the top 3 inches). Yes, I should have done the math first. I got past the half-way mark but need a second batch. Mine didn't have the chemical smell others have described. It seemed very neutral to me.

cats won't use the scratching post now

After I replaced the old worn rope with this new one, the cats refuse to use this new part, they just moved on to another part of the post. Maybe a direction sheet

One of my cats love this stuff

Over time one of my cats has destroyed the sisal twine on their cat posts. Works just like it should.
