Sturdy tree, but the steps are not ergonomic
While this is a nicely constructed sturdy tree, the steps don't really work for my cats. They are too close together and the place the cat has to stand to get up, or land to get down is really small and awkwardly placed. Imagine a spiral staircase where you need to walk only on the very innermost curve of the spiral. I expect the cats will get used to it, because they are cats and can learn how to climb anything. However, it is actually NOT an easy climb for my older cat and my chonkier cat as I had hoped it would be. The really large one especially struggles to use it well.
This is a winner
I love this cat tree it’s tall and sturdy and has 4 levels to watch birds from or sleep in or whatever but my cat doesn’t know what to make of it yet he does use the post to scratch against and I know with a little time he will eventually love it. Either way it stays because it’s a good looking piece of furniture and I plan to get a second cat soon too
Easy to assemble, cats love it!
My cats love this cat tree. They prefer the bowl shape perches, and scratch regularly on the sisal scratching post. I do wish the scratching area was taller, so they could stretch out fully while scratching it, and I always wish the dimensions on listings were true. The dimensions reflect the base of the cat tree, but the bowls stick out a bit on either side of the shorter dimension, so add a few extra inches to your estimate if you have a tight space. Overall this feels very sturdy, was super easy to assemble, and is cat approved!
Rocks a bit but it's good
Bottom line is my cat likes it.....she mostly goes to the 3rd highest bucket but I have seen her napping all the way up top. I knew it might be a bit rocky: the base isn't usually as big as I would have liked to put it surrounded by furniture and my cat if a big one.....I'm happy....she's happy....all's good....
Cats love it!
I got them this so they could see up and over the snowbank outside the patio. My orange cat is a big boy, so we needed something sturdy, and this thing is substantial enough for him to feel secure in the top basket! I had some difficulty anchoring with the screws provided because I didn't have it level at first, but once I got it straightened out, it looked really nice.
Great, but stinks
Sturdy, easy to put together, but wish the little baskets were offset more to make it easier for the cat to jump up the tree. Also, the product smells really bad - I don't know if it's the wood glue or the carpet or what, but it smells really bad. Am on my second round of soaking it with Febreze.
Trading a favorite
I was concerned about trading out our old cat tree but I had replaced the sisal so many times I felt like it was time for a new one. This new tree arrived in a sturdy box and was a breeze to put together. The cats took to it immediately so there have been no transition problems. The only thing that keeps it from being five stars...my cats love sisal and this only has one small portion of a post covered in sisal. It is sturdy, the cats love it, and hopefully it will have a long life!
Higher End Cat Tree
I spent a bit more money, knowing that the cheaper trees are thinner, lightweight and not real carpet. Very easy to put together, but once it was all set up, the carpet is extremely thin, missing in spots, and they drilled a piece together through carpet, so the head of screw is sticking out. A lot of thin clear strings coming out of carpet in many areas, had to cut these off. If the carpet was a bit more thicker, and put on better, it would be a great, sturdy tree.
My cats love it
My only issue is that the second platform from the top did not align the way it was supposed to so we had to improvise and put a stabilizer in to compensate.
Extremely satisfied with my purchase. This tree is solid and not flimsy. It really didn't have a weird smell so we didn't need to let it air out. We have 5 cats and they are all beyond interested in it.
