Not the best..
It looks nice and it fit in the space we needed it for. However, after a few months it's become wobbly and one side just won't rest on the ground and sways back and forth. We've tried it on different floors of the house to make sure it wasn't our floors and it still happens. Also, where the posts go in, and almost all the joints, it's starting to turn yellow. Very odd...hoping it's not mold. Unfortunately we're going to have to order a different one.
I have three dogs. One is 15 lb, one is 10, and one 8 lb. This gate could not hold my three in. It was so flimsy it broke easily if they jumped up against it. Broke in two places and I am probably going to have to trash it.
Bolt latch broke in a month
Got this to block off the living room so our puppy was limited in the space she had access to. The spring-loaded bolt latch broke in a month. Yes, there are still the wooden latches at bottom meant to use if you have an escape artist dog, but they are annoying to use when you are coming in and out of the space regularly throughout the day. Would not recommend.
Beautiful and classy
This 4-panel gate is beautiful, works great and looks good in a formal living room. The brown stain is a rich, dark brown. The gate will fit in just about any decor. I am very happy for purchasing this item and the price is unbeatable.
Nice looking, easy to set up, but easy to knock over
I got the dark wood 36” high and it’s very nice, I like it a lot. I’m using it as a barrier to my front door to try to get my large dog from scratching the door when people walk by. It’s easy to move and knock over, so it’s mostly a mental barrier, but it has been helping to make him stop charging the door! It does what I want and looks nice. You’d have to prop it up somehow if you wanted it to keep a dog from getting through.
Four Panel White wood pet gate
I was so excited to receive this 4 panel white gate as it would match my kitchen, plus it was high enough to keep my standard golden doodle in the kitchen. But the base of this gate was not sturdy and it would tip over. Maybe if it was made of a heavier material, if might have worked out, hence had to return the item. Bummer.
I would give this gate 10 stars if I could. We have several gates because we are separating our 3 large dogs (2 mastiffs and a newfoundland). This gate is by far the best one we have found. It's strong and the dogs are not able to move it, unlike other lightweight models. We haven't used the feet that are included because it stands upright without them if you don't stretch it all the way open. It's also reasonably priced unlike other models and it looks nice. I highly recommend this gate. We will be purchasing another one.
Poor quality control
Spring mechanism for door doesn’t work and they placed the black grips on the top components and not the bottom of the gate where they would be helpful. Gate itself seems a bit flimsy, but the height difference because of the missing grips might be adding to flimsiness. Will return.
So easy, an 8 pound chi can figure it out
I was so excited when we first got this, and couldn't figure out why we weren't buying these to begin with. Right off the bat, one of our cats not only jumped over it (I bought the taller option), but he would walk, and even sit on it. I tried putting cardboard barricades around it and a variety of other deterrents, but he couldn't be stopped. Fine. Then 2 more of the cats started jumping over it. Not ideal, but I didn't really expect it to keep them out for long. What mattered was that it contained the dog... well, for a bit. I came home from work the other day, and was panicked when my dog didn't greet me at the door. I called her, and there she was, jumping up and down like a pogo stick on the other side of the gate exactly where I didn't want her (thank goodness the bulk of the litter boxes were blocked off that day). I went over to see how she got out, and she had somehow managed to knock the support out from the bottom and pushed the gate out with her nose. I had to run off to an appointment, so I set the gate back up, gave it a few good shakes to make sure it was stable, and ran out the door. My boyfriend got home an hour later and was greeted by the same pogo stick happily hopping up and down on the wrong side of the gate. We figured out a work around and have been bracing both sides with walls, but now we have to squeeze through the opening to get in and out of the room (this gate sits on a corner, so the traditional brace style gates don't work). She's been getting crabby with the cats lately, so since this can't really contain any of them, we're just going to have to go back to crating her until we can figure something else out. I think as long as the openings are wide enough to brace the gate with a wall, most people would be okay, but this isn't exactly a functional solution for us.
BEAUTIFUL, did not contain my fur baby
This is sturdy, tall enough and nice looking! Li Li was NOT having it! I think she had the time and smarts to figure out how to break out from behind this pet gate. The first 3 days, I tried to set it up different BUT it just was not secure enough. I reinforced the end that she escaped with 2 - 1-gallon jugs of water on each side by the baseboard that connected and overlapped one end of the gate. She would be at the front door when I approached the door to the house. I purchased this one because it was heavy, not easy to tip and BEAUTIFUL! It was tall enough---she jumps pretty high! I am returning because it is not purposeful. Li Li has scratched the paint and wood on the front door. The wood, when she scratches it now, makes saw dust. I have to find a solution to her anxiety. I have tried a mild relaxant, the puppy gates and a sitter. Of course, the sitter works, but it is only 3 days a week. Back to the drawing board! I give these 5 stars because if you have a fur baby that is not too smart for her own good, this will work AMAZINGLY! Or if you have a different set up, it may work as it should and look great doing it. The walls in my unit are all pinched and I did not want to put holes in the wall. I LOVED the door for the humans! LOL! I called customer service to get instructions on how to return. The gentleman was wonderful! He set in motion for me to get a box for the return and sent me a return label. HOLY MACARONI! The box was almost as big as my living room! I am not going to use it, I found a box more appropriate.
