The enhanced lock is a combination of a push button lock that secures the wire lock handle. The wire lock connects above and below the door by use of a wire handle. Pushing the wire handle into the push button lock secures the handle so it cannot be opened without pushing the button.

We had to try something else because our 7 month pitbull mix kept getting out. The bed was really nice but we should have removed it until he was older since it did not last. I am impressed with the crate overall so far and we have had 0 escapes since getting it. There are a lot of overlapping parts to secure the edges which keeps the side walls from being able to be pushed and pulled. The lock is very easy to use and it is obvious if the door is closed or not. It seems sturdy enough and is blocked from reach so hopefully it should hold up.
I reviewed crates for months. I kept going back and forth between the different ‘heavy duty’ double door Frisco crates and double door Midwest crates. The dimensions of the crate and good reviews influenced my decision. This crate was for my 60 lbs 3 year old male Rough Collie. At home he uses a 42” crate but in the car and at dog shows he uses a 36” crate. I wanted to get him the biggest size 36” crate possible. The dimensions for this crate were 25.5” W x 26.5” H. I’ve never seen a 36” crate this large. They’re normally 22”/23” W and 24”/25” H. I know to some the extra inch and a half doesn’t make much of a difference, but I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible and have a little extra room. Even though he fits perfectly in my other 36” crates already. This crate is extremely well made. I was shocked when I set it up and the teal latches were metal! I thought they were plastic. The locking mechanism is amazing. It’s extremely secure and won’t budge once closed, but it’s also easy to open. The crate wire is nice and thick and I think will definitely hold up over time. I also love the roller feet on the bottom, the clasps on the outside to keep it folded up tight, and the carrying handle!! The crate mat was also a huge plus because you can fold the crate up with it inside. I HIGHLY recommend this crate and I will be purchasing a second one for my female collie!!! The shipping was extremely fast as well. I received a day and a half after I ordered it. Which was perfect because I ordered it for a show we have next weekend!
Bought this to house our two standard doxies at night. They love their crate and go to it even during the day and just lie down in it. The pad wasn't very lofty so ordered another pad to supplement it and works great. I do like the additional lock mechanism but not sure how long it will last, as it's just a plastic button. We'll see about that in the future but the wire of the crate is strong, well made and perfect size for our babies. We also like the pull out plastic tray for easy cleaning in case of accidents.
Perfect size for my pup the mat is pretty firm, it’s a hard plastic styrofoam on the inside, the lock is great I was iffy cause it’s hard plastic but I have to use both hands to press it open, so I know he’s not gonna just ouch it open
I absolutely love this crate! I have 2 crates in home, one is the standard wires crate. The locks on that one start to rub the coating off making it hard to secure and unsecure the lock. This one being basically a button to push down releasing the lock hatch is GREAT. It also has a hook like piece attached at the top as extra security.
Our large puppy outgrew the last cage/crate at 6 mos old. This is a lot bigger and he is very happy with the size increase. Locks are sturdier and easier to use.
I bought this for my German sheppard as they safe space. She loves it and can fit in it perfectly. With room to grow at 100lbs she is a big girl. The fact it also comes with a bed is even better.
Very sturdy cage! Very pleased. Big and roomy, and the doors open with ease which is nice. I've purchased many cages over the years and this is the best one for the size, price and features that I have ever had. Highly recommended!!
One handed open/closing is tremendous. Definitely heavy duty. Good construction. Pad is basic, but definitely provides another layer of comfort.
The crate is definitely a big upgrade compare to are past crate not to mention that the crate has 2 doors that come in handy the lock system is great and easy to unlock. Would definitely recommend currently have it for a German Shepard.
