This crate is so easy to tote and set up. I bought this to use as a crate when we travel, and it works perfectly. It is as light as they say it is! I will emphasize that this is only for perfectly crate trained dogs, as any dog could get out of this quite easily. I would definitely recommend re-crate training while you are home to make sure your friend will respect it! I haven’t had any issues with my dog, but see that others have.
Nice shape and size for large cats!
This is very useful for large cats! Easy to drop them in from the top and surround them with blankets. Spacious without being overwhelmingly large. It's a little shorter yet higher than some others I've had. I like the green color and feel it was a good choice for us. You can easily fit in two cats together if needed.
This is the perfect size for my Springer Spaniel. He is 7 months old now and will be a good size for him in adulthood. The only problem with it is that it barely fits into the back of my large SUV, and doesn't have any way of of attaching it to the seats. I could put him in the cargo area but I image his not being able to see would cause distress. The day after I got it I put it in the living room and low and behold he got out by manipulating the zippers on his own. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as he opens doors too! I may need to find a way to hold it down with bungie cords, with half the seat down.
great alternative to metal crate when traveling
was looking for something to put in car to travel with multiple pets... one needs to be crated while out ... looked al many items...ordered this and it is perfect.... strong, good supports, perfect size, easy to carry like carrying a portfolio..... thank you
Ended up well
The crate I purchased initially arrived with an issue with the sticking/bracket on one end of a zipper that meant it could simply be pushed open from the inside. When I brought this to the attention of the Chewy customer service team they were able to resolve it immediately and sent me a new crate that arrived in two days. Given the size and awkwardness for shipping the customer service rep said not to worry about trying to ship it back, that I could go ahead and dispose of it appropriately. The replacement crate was in great condition and had no issue with zippers or fasteners. It's lightweight and easy to assemble, disassemble, and transport whenever needed. The one issue we ran into early on was that its light weight made potential for tipping over seem imminent. So far the dog hasn't managed to tip it over but even if that day arrives the set up is secure enough that I am not concerned about any real issues beyond him freaking himself out pretty well.
Happy dogs, happy owners
Great alternative to a bulky metal cage. Lightweight, foldable/compact, and perfect playpen for our two miniature Pomeranians to have a plush pillow and a pee pad with water bowl when I’m busy around the house or running errands.
Sturdy for intended purpose
I was impressed with this crate immediately out of the box. The frame construction feels sturdy for something that's meant to be collapsed regularly, and the canvas is better than I would expect at this price point. The loops to secure the canvas to the frame, and to hold the zipper shut at the top of the doors are nice bonuses I haven't seen in similar crates. The tension arms have some serious finger-pinch potential when setting up or breaking down the crate, so be careful. For a crate-trained dog who is not going to attempt an aggressive escape, this is a great product.
I do NOT recommend this crate. It is very difficult to set up and take down. The seam around the zipper came apart after two months of minimal use. Basically a waste of money. I now have to buy another travel crate (I have had a smaller size Nozz2Noz Sof-Krate for years and should have spent the extra money for a larger size in the first place)
Not As Durable As Smaller Size
The 36 inch has a less durable top/roof, probably because the material used isn't as taught as the 26 inch we have. My dog is only 19 lbs and somehow managed to break the zipper from the inside and tore up the door without trying much. He is not a destructible dog and loves crates. 26 inch is great though.
Godsend after Surgery!
We got this portable kennel after our dog tore his CCL and was having TPLO surgery for the second time! We wanted something a little smaller than his metal crate. It has been perfect! The large side opening made it easier for us to climb halfway into to help get him up onto his feet and provided extra room for him to navigate out as well. We also love the zip up roof! We leave that open during the day, and close it up at night to keep it darker overnight and in the morning. You can tell our pup feels secure and snuggled in. 70lb staffie/shepherd mix and we got the Large which is perfect! It’s like a playpen for the dog!
