Smelly

I really liked this item because it's natural and the clay dust has been bothering me. However, some issues with this one: one of our kittens kept eating the litter. He seems to have mostly stopped, but when we add fresh litter he's enticed. Also, once the litter has been used a few times, it has a sort of pet shop smell that isn't super pleasant. I'm sure with more frequent changes this would be lessened. We are also using this in the litter robots. We've been struggling with our clay litter clumping to the bottom and creating a cement-y paste. This grass litter still clumped, but less. I'm going to try the olive oil pam trick and see if it helps. A lot more litter seems to be tracked out onto the floor. I don't know if it's because of the litter itself or if the cats are playing with it more. Easily taken care of with litter mats. Overall I like it. I'm going to try the pine scent and see how that goes.

I'll will say this is the best litter by far thst I've ever used. It's easy to keep clean, little to no odor, my cats love it, and I have 4 cats so my litter box gets alot of use. I will highly recommend this product 5 stars. I really can't say enough about this product. I clean my box every morning "I have an extra large/jumbo litter box and by cleaning once a day and adding litter as needed keeps me and my cats happy. It's not expensive last a long while, comes in a large bag and it's not too heavy for me to carry. The clumps aren't rock hard but hold together for me to scoop out of the box. Again I highly recommend this product. Thank you Chewy/Frisco for this litter.

BIG pluses, one small minus

We’ve been using this grass litter for over a year. We were fed up with the dust from clay litter coating everything in the cellar where the litter box lives.

We’ve been using this grass litter for over a year. We were fed up with the dust from clay litter coating everything in the cellar where the litter box lives. This grass litter really has NO DUST so we were immediately happy. But we discovered that it has many other totally unexpected pluses. Compared to clay, we find that the grass litter absorbs better, clumps together better so no scraps, doesn’t stick to the box or scoop no matter how fresh “it” is, handles odor better, and is much softer. It weighs less and we find we’re also buying less - compare the volume of this 20-lb bag to a 35-lb tub of clay litter. I added the grass litter slowly to a box with clay litter in it and had absolutely no problem with our mega-cat accepting it and making the switch. And we’ve found uses for the resealable plastic bag as well. The only very minor disadvantage is that it’s a little more track-y than clay litter but we don’t notice it enough to even bother putting a litter-catching mat at the box. I wish we had switched to this grass litter years ago. Thanks to Chewy for a great product that lives up to its claims.

My cat has the dirtiest paws known to man after he uses the litter box. Often after relieving himself, he wants to come sit on me, my bed, my pillow... and gets litter crumbs all over everything! It has been my mission for the past year to find a litter that is dust-free, clumping, and oder-controlled enough that my sweet baby's toe beans exit the box almost as clean as they entered it. At last, I believe my search has ended. I never notice a smell with this litter. it clumps beautifully. And best of all, my kitty's paws are not tracking dust all over my house! I absolutely recommend this litter to everyone who wants low dust, oder control litter.

Soft on paws but tracks easily and sticks to the pan

I switched recently from pine because one of my boys have become picky and I get it pine is like stepping on legos. This is very soft and he now goes with no fuss

I switched recently from pine because one of my boys have become picky and I get it pine is like stepping on legos. This is very soft and he now goes with no fuss. This also neutralizes odor better. Down sides is it is very light weight so it tracks very easily. Another con is the urine clumps stick to the bottom of the litter box and I have to really dig to get it unstuck. I am still new to using this so I may need to change somethings to get it to work.

Clay, corn, pretty litter, walnut, paper, and pine all had a ridiculous amount of dust or was toxic for them. I tried grass and there is BARELY any dust. Every litter will have some but it’s like it’s heavy enough to fall quickly. I have long hairs & it doesn’t stick to their paws too bad & if it does it’s not toxic for them to ingest when they clean themselves. It hides the smell well & they took to it immediately.

We live in the woods, so we dispose of the pee clumps outdoors in a hole. So less going into landfill. We flush the solids and don't need to worry about the bit of litter damaging pipes or septic. It does track on kitty feet, but most litters do. Easy enough to sweep or vacuum up. Thank you for making this affordable, natural option!

Both my cat Moses and I have allergies so dealing with dust from most litters was very difficult for us. Then I found this grass litter. It is totally natural and biodegrable. It has a fresh smell with no obnoxious added fragrance that causes more irritation. It clumps great. I love it. The one drawback is it does track more but it is well worth our health and comfort!!
