I started using this moss to increase the humidity in my corn snake’s tank. This moss is greener than all the other mosses sold but an answered question on Chewy’s listing says it is not dyed, so I got it. Unfortunately my corn snakes scoots are now green tinged.

usually great but molded this time :(

i use this moss in every enclosure and never have problems, but this time it ended up covered in a powdery blue-white mildew shortly after setup, and i had to rehouse

i use this moss in every enclosure and never have problems, but this time it ended up covered in a powdery blue-white mildew shortly after setup, and i had to rehouse my tarantula again. will probably continue to use this brand if i can’t find another one i like as much, but will be sure to soak and rinse it and let it sit in the sun just in case.

In my opinion... this is display moss. This is the moss that you put "on top" or in the front of the tank. I don't know that it really helps with humidity. I feel

In my opinion... this is display moss. This is the moss that you put "on top" or in the front of the tank. I don't know that it really helps with humidity. I feel like the white, new Zealand spagnum seems to hold more water and contribute to the humidity. That's just my opinion, but I do use both in my terrariums. This is what I use in the front, in the areas that are not heavily trafficked (so that it stays nice). It really just makes things look pretty. I did use it in a snail tank, and my terrestrial snails LOVED to snack on it and leave green poop everywhere.

Sphagnum moss for tortoises

Some of the moss was bright green, as if it had been dyed. My tortoises don't eat the moss, so I think it's okay. This is fine for now and will serve its purpose

I'll be more diligent about making sure that future sphagnum moss I purchase for my torts is all natural and undyed or specifically says that animal-safe dye has been used. Maybe I just missed this detail in the product description.

Very vibrant, easy to rehydrate and its great for increasing the humidity in my gecko terrarium. The bag is a decent size which means if you have a bigger enclosure
