I got this to replace my dog's old bed which had become flat as a pancake over the years. She likes bolstered beds. She is a 55 lb Aussie mix and I ordered the Large size. She fits in it fine in most positions except completely sprawled out. It's very lightweight. She loves resting in it from the minute we put it down. I am disappointed in the measurements though as they do not match the ones on the listing. I got it for her to have more room than her old bed but it seems to be actually a bit smaller in reality. The sleep surface for a Large is 26" x 19" with a 13" opening, NOT 31" x 22" with 14.5" opening! That's almost a full ten inches smaller surface to sleep on than advertised! The overall/outer dimensions are somewhat accurate.
I had high hopes for this dog bed. I ordered the large and small. The large was true to size but the small dog bed was not. I have a 5.5 pound chi and he barely fits on the small which states it can hold up to a 20 pound dog! The large dog bed is thin and gives zero support. Both of my dogs refuse to use these beds. Chewy of course made it right and accepted both bed returns no problem, gave me my money back and told me to donate the beds which I will do. Chewy for the win again!
So I will say this bed is fine. However, I bought a different bed from FurHaven that just seemed to be much better quality. The green bed pictured below is this bed and the gray is the other bed that I bought. It’s obvious that the cushioning/padding just isn’t as good in this bed, but the cost is slightly cheaper. As a reference, I bought this green bed in a large size for my bedroom since I have limited floor space. The other gray bed was a jumbo for my living and is quite spacious. The large bed is a little small for my two larger dogs (sizes 50, 70, and 75 pounds), so the sizing chart is spot on. However, it’s the biggest sized bed I could fit in my room and I still found my 70 lbs. senior pup cuddled up on it last night.
I ordered 3 jumbo beds since my three dogs are 85-100 lbs. One large bed accidentally came (which chewy did refund) but my 100 lb dog had more than enough room in the large bed and honestly would have been better in a medium bed! Maybe the company does this to up-sell for a bigger bed. They’re taking up a lot of room so I wish the size chart was actually accurate plus it would have saved me a lot of money. I would have ordered 3 mediums. If you’re on the fence about sizing, a medium bed WILL FIT an 85-100 lb dog just fine. The jumbo’s fit them both at the same time. Also, the sides that come up on the bed are not stiff at all so if your dog likes sides on the bed this is mediocre. The bed itself is decent with the cushion but was hopping for better quality. I’m not sure the cushion will last long and likely will flatten out soon. All in all, the quality is a 6 out of 10. Save on the size though!!
It's a good bed and my dog likes it but the sizing, as other reviewers have noted, is way off. Two of my 70lb dog could easily fit on the large. I would send it back for a smaller size but it would be a huge pain trying pack it back into the box given that it came vacuum packed and crammed into the box. Whatever size you think you need, go down one.
I needed to order my 13 year old dog a new bed as her round donut bed just does not have the support she needs for her aching joints. After a lot of research and reviews, I chose to go with this bed, and she loves it. She can still snuggle up or stretch out. It has a thick foam, which is supportive and keeps her off the hard floors. (Donut beds lose this after awhile). She is a Border Collie, medium size, weighs 45 lbs. and I ordered a size Large.
Washed once on delicate, and the zipper broke, had the bed for about 4.5 months. Puppy is 6months old. After waking this morning, where the zipper broke it had opened and pups was able to have access to the insert, which no longer survived. It was a great bed, and very roomy for him while it lasted. We had the XL, and he used it frequently. But for the price, I would spend $$ on something that will last. Like I said after one wash, it seemed to weaken the material, and things started to break.
I ordered a medium sized bed that I thought would be too large for my little poodle, but it turned out to be the perfect size for her. She curls up in the corner, stretches out on her side, and props her head up on the side. It is good quality with an orthopedic foam mattress pad and has a removable cover. I am very pleased with it.
This is the 2nd FurHaven bed I've purchased this month. The 1st one wasn't very good at all & Chewy refunded my money. (Thank u Chewy!) This one, however, was a tiny bit more expensive, but is SO MUCH BETTER. My hubby built a platform for their bed, so it sits up level with & against the couch, & I also put a folded blanket just under the center for extra support where they lay most often, to help keep it from sagging quickly in that area.) It's only been a week, but my dogs actually race to get to the bed first. (They used to do this to my couch, now this bed is the preferred spot & the "loser" has to sit by me on the couch! Lol.) They also love the super soft faux fur cover & rub their faces on it like they can't get enough! Lol. I'll let u know how it holds up after a few months. The 60 day guarantee it came with was definitely a great bonus too. So far, I highly recommend it!
I have had this bed since Aug of 2021. It has held up 100%. My 2 dogs love it. I bought the jumbo plus. My dogs weigh 70 to 80 lbs each. They can both lay on it at the same time if they choose. They use it every day. I put a twin fitted sheet on it to protect it, and it still looks brand new. I highly recommend. :) My friend just ordered one for her dogs.
