Does the stuffing come out in pieces or is it solid

The stuffing is solid a memory foam bed and bolsters.

What is inside the bolster? The description does not state that the bolster material is to be removed when washed.

The bolsters are 100% recycled fluffy filled and should not be washed. The foam can be spot cleaned with mild soap as needed. Press excess water from mat. Do not wring. Let air dry. Do not machine wash bolsters or foam. For best results - Remove filling (foam core). Zip close. Shake off any loose debris from cover before washing. Hand or machine wash separately; cold water. Do not bleach. Line dry or tumble dry low. Replacement liners and foams can be found directly through the manufacturer.

I understand the bolsters have fluffy filling; however, is the filling within liner bags inside the bolster? Or just loose filling?

This pet bed is suitable for cats and dogs. We recommend measuring your pet to find the perfect bed size. Pets who curl up to sleep can fit on a smaller bed, while pets who stretch out need a larger bed. To determine the ideal bed length, measure your pet in his or her normal sleeping position, then add 4-6” for cats and small dogs, or 8-12” for medium to large dogs. When in doubt, we suggest ordering the bigger size. The bed dimensions may be located by clicking the “Size” tab, on the product page.

I searched around for a great dog bed and this is IT! I got the jumbo plus for my 90 lb chow/shepherd/lab mix, so he has extra room to sprawl out which is how he sleeps! This is our dogs' favorite spot to rest and get a good night's sleep! What I love the most is the support, I really like that the foam is 5" deep because I felt like on his old bed he was hitting the floor. Only 2 critiques: 1) I wish there was a size in between the jumbo and jumbo plus, because the jumbo is definitely too small for him to sprawl out, but this bed is massive. Thankfully, our bedroom in our new house could fit like 5 dog beds so it's not an issue. I went with this bed over other beds because it was big enough to fit him and for the 5 inch foam. In our last house it was too large really for the bedroom space with our things, but we made it work. 2) I wish there was a waterproof liner on this, or wish there was a quality one that was offered to buy separately at least. I did order the Furhaven water resistant liner but unfortunately this made a ton of noise and did not work out well for us. Thank you furhaven for making this great bed and the only one that worked for us!!

I originally ordered this bed for my senior cat who has mobility issues and has to have a pillow or bolster to rest his head. I ordered a larger size than what he needed because his siblings sometimes like to pile in and snuggle with him. This picture is from the first night. I placed his blanket in the bed and he went to it immediately. It wasn't long before his siblings joined him. It is safe to say they love it. The memory foam top is great for added comfort. The materials and construction exceeded my expectations. I will be ordering several more of these for the rest of the crew. I would highly recommend this bed for anyone who has older pets with joint or mobility issues. Note that this item is shipped from a dropship site, so shipping times will take slightly longer than normal Chewy ship times. However, I found it to be well worth the wait time.

My little Yorkies immediately took over the bed when it was first put down. The bed seems to be well made. The bed is new so I can't comment on how well it will hold up. I put a doggie throw that I purchased from Chewy to help keep the bed clean. My dog loves resting her head on the bolster. I got the medium size and it is perfect for her to stretch out.
