I got this for my two pitbulls. The amount of hair this thing grabs is insane! The piece that ejects the fur out of the comb works great. I use it about once a week and my pups LOVE it. If your dog has short hair and sheds then buy this thing right meow.
Works as described.

I had always wanted to get this with our other dogs, but the price used to be too high. I finally purchased it for our new pup and it works as described. It grabs the undercoat that is always poking up above the top coat. And the quick release is a great thing, but gets stuck alot (-1 star), but it's manageable. I would like to say that it eliminates shedding, but it definitely does not. It does reduce the amount of shedding for several days, but then you have to do it again. This I am sure depends on each dog’s shedding issues. I do space out the use of the furminator with brushing gloves, so I don't irritate my dogs skin, since he is short-haired. Day 1: removed a lot of fur in a short amount of time. (Can't brush for long. My Leila hates it.) Day 2: removed a bit more fur. Noticed that when I brush everyday or every other day, there is less fur in my home & back yard. It has a button that helps release the hair and makes cleaning it easier. My only regret is purchasing one. I should have bought two.

What a wonderful product! The other reviews were right, the lever that is supposed to clear the fur for one hand operation doesn't work. You need two hands. But....the amount of fur that is removed, absolutely amazing. I bought the short hair brush for my Lab. It must feel really good because she stands perfectly still while I brush her. Wish I bought it years ago!!!!!

I have a lab/staffie/boxer mix and he sheds like there's no tomorrow. I use this after his bath (after he is completely dry) and it really helps to minimize his shedding. it pulls off SO MUCH EXTRA FUR from his undercoat. I highly recommend. Well worth the purchase.

This tool does help grab lots of hair. However, even though I use a regular brush to eliminate tangles before using this tool, it still catches in some places on my pups and I feel like it hurts them a little. I go very slow and gentle using this on them, but they don't seem to like it so far. They don't love regular brushes being used on them either though, but it seems like this one actually irritates them. I think they just need to get use to it and will be fine.
Works really well.

This brush works really well. I wish I had gotten this years ago. I grew up with black labs and have one now as an adult. They always shed and I thought that was something I just had to deal with. I didn't know there was a tool to help get that undercoat out. I got this for my 8 year old lab and pretty much brushed out enough fur for an extra dog. Her coat was immediately shinier and she looked so good! I'm sure she is much more comfortable with all that extra fur on her.
Brush for pugs, expensive but works

This is the first brush I have used that actually takes anything off of my pug and Boston terrier! They are both black and their hair shows everywhere but so much less since using this brush. they also kinda like it too :)

I have a black lab border collie mix and have always struggled with keeping up with all his shedding hair. I've been searching for quite sometime now for a brush that could drastically reduce his shedding. I FOUND IT in the FURminator Deshedding Tool! The first time I used the tool, I spent at least a half of an hour getting his shedding hair off. To my delight, Jeffrey enjoys being brushed with the FURminator and rolls on his back as well. I've been using this tool for a few weeks now and have seen a DRASTIC reduction in hair in my home. If your looking for a tool to decrease your dogs hair shedding then this is the product for you.

i had bought a furminator many years ago...my rottweiler HATED it...she'd sit but would run off when she got the chance to escape. my brother suggested the short haired one. this new one has made life MUCH better. she still isn't a big fan, but submits. there is a button to "evidently" eject the hair from the teeth....does NOT work...but not a huge deal to grab it out of the teeth with my other hand.
