Consult your veterinarian. Dosages of gabapentin for dogs, cats, and horses can vary depending on their age, weight, and what health issue they are suffering from.

May be given with or without food. Tablets are scored; should your dosing schedule require you to divide the scored 600 mg. or 800 mg. Gabapentin tablets in order to administer a half-tablet, you should give your pet the unused half-tablet as the next dose. Half-tablets not used within 28 days of dividing the scored tablet should be discarded.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration require generic medications to have the same active ingredients and provide the same strength, effectiveness, quality, route of administration, and safety standards as name-brand medications.
