Fooled the unfoolable kitty!
My eldest cat was recently diagnosed with early kidney disease and placed on prescription food with a prescription heart medicine to be given twice daily. Pilling a cat and even administering liquid medicine to a cat has been a nightmare for me, having been required to do it for three different cats. I saw these when getting my autoship order together for Mina's prescription food and thought I should try them. I never in a million years expected these to fool her, but they did and do! Not only does Mina love these pill pockets, she comes running into the kitchen every time she hears me open the bag to get one out. It completely surrounds her half tablet and she has no idea she's getting medicine in her treat. I know that cats with kidney disease can lose their appetite so I hope she never loses her appetite for these because they make both of our lives so much easier when it comes to medicating her.
My cat loves them
As far as he's concerned, these are the best "treat" ever. Stands on his little back legs even; he's that excited for them. Makes for a very compliant patient which is fantastic as he needs meds twice a day :). Their soft and playdough-like consistency is easy to wrap around and hide almost any pill shape and apparently easy to swallow down as my "old man" cat is missing most his teeth. Excellent product. Thank you for making it so much easier to pill a cat!
Game changer
These things are a game changer!! My cat was very ill and I had to give her an antibiotic that was a huge tablet even cut up. The vet had me try liquid form (what a mess) and then wanted me to "pill" her. That was barbaric so I thought I'd try these. Should've bought these from the beginning. She doesn't even chew it, swallows it whole and it's not a battle. I originally bought the chicken flavor which she loved. However, the store ran out of stock and Chewy had it in salmon flavor. My cat doesn't usually like fish flavors, fish oil, or fish food, but she enjoys these in salmon flavor so it's a win. Just get them. It will make your life and theirs easier!
Does the trick
My ginger cat with very high anxiety needs kitty prozac, and he likes these pockets so much he tries to knock them out of my hand to get them before I'm ready. If the capsule falls out, the residue is so good apparently that he'll try to eat the capsule by itself. Very thankful they make these, though they're a tad expensive for how many you get.
My geriatric cats look forward to their pills
I have three cats. Two are 18 and need daily medication. Both happily scarf down their pill pockets! I recommend the salmon flavor because it's slightly softer and easier to seal around the pills than other flavors.
Only thing that works
I have a very picky cat. The salmon flavor pill pocket is the only thing keeping him from being pilled everyday for his thyroid meds. I break it in half and only use half because otherwise he will bite it( finding the pill) instead of swallowing it whole. They do dry out easy if you don't seal the package properly so I recommend making sure it's closed. Great product.
Great for Pilling cats
My 17 year old almost 18 year old female spayed cat, gets organic pills and high blood pressure meds, since olders gets kidney disease. Just found these pill pockets and they are a life saver, since you can cut them in half or quarters depending on the size of the pill. Since she's gotten a bit wise that there is a pill in the pill pockets, I roll the pill pocket in fancy feasy liquid gravy centers pate. It works.
I don’t do pills
Rain and Reed love these as a snack with a paws up but Rain gives them a paws down if a pill is included. Im sure they are good for cats that are not pill resistant.
Great way to get my finicky eater to take his pill
My semi feral cat was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I needed to be sure he got his medication twice a day. I decided to try the pill pockets. Low and behold, even if he doesn't eat all his foo, he always eats the salmon flavored pill pocket sitting on the plate next to his meals. Thyroid meds are critical and now I can be sure he's getting them.
Too big, total fail
I have pill masker that comes in a jar like paste, and lets me pinch whatever quantity I want to form around a pill. But my cat won't eat it (it's bacon flavored). So I bought 3 flavors of feline Greenies pill pockets, but they're pretty big. My cat is pretty sick and won't eat anything, and she didn't show any interest in any of these. I'll donate the 3 opened bags to a shelter.
