Greenies Pill Pockets Feline Salmon Flavor Cat Treats

I was so hoping this would work, but sadly, my cat refused to eat these treats. My 16-year old CKD cat takes meds twice per day. I attempted to give her one of these treats (without the medicine), and she seemed interested, but then spat it out. I hadn't even put the medicine in yet! I tried a few more times, and she just wasn't having it. This was shocking because my cat is incredibly treat-motivated, and she will eat just about any treat given to her. I'm not sure what was wrong with these, but she hates them. I like this product in theory; it just didn't work for me. ALSO, they arrived completely flattened by shipping, which was frustrating.

My kitty was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and heart issue. the heart pill was started 2 wks before the thyroid med. Hiding her heart pill in this worked like a charm. she loved it and it didn't affect our relationship with me having to dose her. Then the dreaded thyroid pill time. With these, they can make a cat sick and lethargic until their bodies adjust. Unfortunately, she associated the pill pocket as to what was making her feel this way, so now she wont touch it. I've tried both flavors available. now, I have to hide it in tuna. i wish i had known this and had started with the tuna and then the pill pocket so I could of continued using them

If you have a cat that needs or may need to take some kind of medicine in pill or power form at some point in the near future or unexpectedly -- have these on hand. I have a cat who can sniff out any and all coverups to her medicine (in pill form) but has no idea she is taking her medicine and rather looks for these pill pockets. They have changed her life -- and for sure, mine as well. Vets should hand these out with medicine. I took the time to write this review with the hopes that it may help improve the life of a cat and her/his owner. Best wishes.

I used the dog variety for my small dogs but felt the treats were a little excessive, considering I have to use them in response to acute treatments with prescribed dosages several times a day, rather than a “one and done” occasional pill. I also have a cat so thought I’d try using these for all of my pets. They worked well and met my objective. They are just big enough for the pills my dogs have to take for allergies and I don’t feel the dogs are getting excessive calories. The only downside might be that I’m tempting fate by offering cat treats to my little dogs.

Chewy has been the best online shopping experience! I have been purchasing as many things through their site as possible (after comparing prices). We have a special needs kitty who needs meds 2x daily so Pill Pockets are always in our basket. I found Chewy's prices to be almost 50% less than what we were paying in our local brick & mortar store. Plus, their free shipping and customer service (a person will always pick up the phone) is a huge bonus! My new favorite store!

These pill pockets are great for getting cats (or dogs) to eat medication or anything that will fit in the pocket. The 2 flavors provide a variety so your pet doesn't get tired of one. You can also put ground up medication in there as well. My only suggestion is not to order the pill pockets with anything else heavy in the same delivery box. Although the pill pockets have some air in the package, the pill pockets still seem to get mashed which make them harder to use.

I took another person's advice as to not use the same finger to mold the treat around the pill that I used to hold the pill because my cats are way too smart for me. ;) I used this on two. Both are horrible at taking medicine. I mean one of them takes his hind legs and contorts them in a way that it looks like he's possessed, just so that he can kick my hands away from him. The other one hides as soon as he sees me touching anything that looks like something he hates. THESE TREATS WORK! I gave them some when they first delivered without any pill. I no longer have to worry about pill giving!

My cat has been having allergies, and I was told to get him some of these to help give him the medicine, but he didn't like them! I tried to introduce him to the new treat even before using the pill pocket, and he didn't want that, but I still went ahead and tried with the pill inside as well, but again he didn't like or want it! He's never been picky about his treats before either, but he definitely wasn't interested in these. Sad!

Tasha has a thyroid condition so she must take her pill twice a day. I usually put it a little bit of canned food, but if the coating starts to come off....no way will she take it. Putting the pill in a pill pocket works wonders even if the coating has come off the pill because I tried the food method first. So far she hasn't discovered that the pill is in that delicious treat.

One of my cats will eat the chicken flavored pill pocket with the pill. The other won't touch them. However, both cats like the salmon flavor pill pockets and aren't bothered by the pill inside. Since this medicine is for a lifelong condition for both cats, this has been wonderful. In addition, Chewy's is the only place I can find the larger quantity.
