Herm Sprenger Ultra-Plus Training Dog Prong Collar with ClicLock

Teaching your dog to sit, stay and heel at your command is easier with the Ultra-Plus Stainless Training Collar with ClicLock from Herm Springer. This safe and convenient training tool is designed to let dogs know when it’s time to heel. It's made with blunt prongs that help to guide your dog without hurting him. This works because the patented center plate mimics the way a mother uses her mouth to correct her puppies' behavior—the prongs gently pinch the back of his neck, signaling he should stop and listen. Plus, the unique ClicLock feature is designed to make it easier and safer to attach and detach your pup's new collar—just click it into place and push to lock. It’s great for taking large dogs or tough pullers on a walk, protecting you and your best bud from getting into a dangerous situation. Replacement links are available if you need to create a more custom fit.

To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet's neck for comfort.

nice and light, but opens up while dog wears it and I lost two already
By cheerios on Feb 9, 2021
the collar generally works well and is nice and light. Problem is that it opens up (the chain links, not the cliclock) and I lost two collars already. the collar opened several times (e.g. while I had my dog on a leash when biking with him), and I was lucky several times to notice it and I was able to put it back together. But as I said, I lost two full collars already - not pleased about that...

good collar but falls off
By papichulo on Dec 10, 2020
This is good collar but it has fallen off multiple times during our walks. I bought this collar a couple months ago and never had any issues until the past two weeks. The end link somehow becomes dislodged from the adjacent link and my dog runs wild. Thankfully he doesn’t go very far but I was not expecting this to happen. I have bent the links back into place hoping that it would prevent this from happening again but it did not work. I recommend this type of collar; however, I will not be buying this same brand again.

Great addition to our training regimine
By Handy on Nov 15, 2020
The collar was a bit big but with the removable links it fit perfectly. Although the puppy isn't yet being given true corrections the collar immediately enhanced what we were already working on and stopped the pulling and lunging to play with other humans or dogs. Totally agree that it is a safe humane way to address training.

Not happy too small this is made for small puppies that never get big.

This is made for small dogs not big dogs and my dog is only 10 months old American Staffordshire.

Not as nice as original
By Mom2JudeAndSirius on Oct 21, 2020
Because of the buckle, this collar is not as adjustable as is needed. I removed two links and it is too big but if I remove a third, it is too small. I thought it would be fine slightly too big but it did slip off my dogs neck when some trash cans frightened him. The buckle also isn't as sturdy as I had hoped it would be. If you are not good at pinching the links to open and close the collar, I recommend going with the quick release herm sprenger over this one.

Clip is the ticket
By Simplesimon on Sep 24, 2020
I bought a herm sprenger once before. The collar was SO heavy that I didn’t dare use on my 50 lb standard poodle. However this smaller pronged collar is excellent and the snap click closure is equally so.. Prongs don’t get caught in my dogs long ears as I can unlatch collar easily. My poodle is well trained, social and calm however all bets are off when there is a squirrel or rabbit. The collar helps to enforce the “leave it” command.

Night and day difference!
By KD830 on Oct 16, 2020
This worked amazingly on my 45 lb hound mix. He immediately stopped pulling. The quick release is also key for this type of collar since he doesn't love putting it on. Highly recommend for a dog that needs training or pulls!

Best Collar for training
By SimplySmith on Sep 16, 2020
As trainers, we love the quality and reliability of these collars. We recommend them to heavy pullers when the slip lead doesn't work. It's also great for correcting unwanted behavior. We use this and other Herm Srpenger collars and know that they are Safe and will not cause injury to a dog when used correctly.

Just perfect!
By Nwhite on Oct 18, 2020
My dog is getting stronger as she gets older and took me for a spill. My brother told me to get this and it’s made a huge difference. My dog is much more responsive to commands.
