To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet's neck for comfort.
These types of collars are a necessity if you have a large strong dog. Even if they are not pullers. Remember if they are capable of pulling one day they will. Our Flossy is extremely gentle but if she sees a squirrel she will start to pull. This collar will stop her in her tracks. You really know how to use one of these and never leave them on the dog.
This one is extremely well made ( in Germany). Very smooth stainless steel. We use this with a regular collar btw.

My vet recommended this collar for an exuberant, anxious dog. She is strong and walks were a challenge. She explained how to use and I also watched some youtube videos before ordering. This collar has been life changing, seriously. We can have nice long walks now and my shoulder is no longer getting injured.
If you have a dog that is a challenge to walk, this is the answer to your problems.
Hard to put on

High quality, but putting it on and taking it off is extremely hard. You have to be able to squeeze one of the pinchers a good bit to connect/unconnect it and being high quality stainless, it doesn’t give easily. But this one has a swivel to attach the leash that others don't which is an important feature.
Doubts turn into appreciation

I had my doubts about this collar. I was worried, despite comment to the contrary, that the prongs would be harmful for our dog. While this collar should be used only after adequate training and understanding of its use, our dog has suffered no ill affects and it helps with his responsiveness. Used responsibly it is very effective.

My golden retriever is very playful and loves to jump on everyone + he also pulls when walking him. Since I’ve been working with him, he has decreased these behaviors. I’m still learning myself on the correct use, but it works great.
Only temporary use for me

I got this for my 65 lb one year old American Bully/Pitbull mix 6 months ago and it held up pretty well and my dog did amazing on walks. At first I took off one prong, but then it was too tight that I couldn't get the collar off and now that he's older I have added it back and it is now too loose so it falls to his neck when he's been walking for a while. I thought he would desensitize the collar, but even after 6 months of continuous usage, he still pulls when presented with a new collar. Might have to try something different.
we love our prong

Best training collar for working lines or hunting dogs with strong prey drive. Not for every dog. Easily misused, have to be precise with timing and correction. Been using ours with a balanced trainer for almost a year. No other training methods worked. Worth the money !

My trainer recommended this collar. After showing me how to correctly use the collar on my dog, it only took a few sessions of leash training to get her to walk by my side without pulling.

The collar was an OK fit but it appears different to my other Herm Sprenger collars. Not sure if they just changed the way they are manufactured but it is a completely different look and I am unsure if the quality will remain the same.
Manufactured diff from before- CHEAPER

I have always used this brand for its reliability. I was replacing a 2yr old prong collar (just because, and not over any defect. Thought 2 yrs was a good run). The new one I got is significantly different. The material is not steel but some other thing material, the rings/loops are thinner, it weighs significantly less (I have a scientific food scale) 42grams different. I contacted Chewy and they said the manufacturer had not stated any changes. It is however very different. The new one feels cheap. I am highly disappointed.
