To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet's neck for comfort.
I have always used this brand for its reliability. I was replacing a 2yr old prong collar (just because, and not over any defect. Thought 2 yrs was a good run). The new one I got is significantly different. The material is not steel but some other thing material, the rings/loops are thinner, it weighs significantly less (I have a scientific food scale) 42grams different. I contacted Chewy and they said the manufacturer had not stated any changes. It is however very different. The new one feels cheap. I am highly disappointed.
This Has Been a Life Saver

OK so I have read every review about this collar. My first thoughts were that, yes, it looks good but the proof will be in walk taming Fergus my 8 month old Bernedoodle. The pups genetics insured that he would PULL against any flat collar. True dat! From day one Fergus was the puppy equivalent of a green and yellow Farm Tractor. This collar has made me a BELIEVER! Our walks together are now pleasant instead of painful for us both. Still pulls against a flat collar but who cares? He is a perfect pup with this collar afixed. Recommend do buy if your pup is like mine!
Breaks open/falls off while in use!

Do not purchase unless you want to risk your dog's life. The links have come apart 2 times when in use and my dog ran out into the street! Thank heavens there was no traffic. I was willing to think it was user error the first time but after the second time it was clear the links sometimes slip apart. Buyer beware.
it works great!

I took my dog Percy out with it and he likes to pull really hard and bark at other dogs and sometimes people and this is the First time he did not pull or do any of those behaviors at all this is a great collar. I really didn’t want to get him a collar like this but one of our cities police officers said that some dogs are just like that so he suggested it to me so thank you and I can’t remember his last name but thank you sooo much! Our walks I think are going to be much better for both of us
Miracle for our Brittany
on Aug 7, 2021
We’ve been struggling with pulling and darting with our 6 month Brittany Spaniel. Tried front harness, gentle leader (she really hated that), and finally this collar. Watched several training videos to make sure we fit it correctly and wouldn’t hurt her. We saw an immediate reduction in pulling and in her response to us with minimal corrections. Still have a ways to go (she’s a puppy!) but I now have hope that we will be able to enjoy walking/running her and she will learn to walk safely with my kids.
best training tool I’ve ever bought
on Aug 9, 2021
I bought this collar to train my husky leash manners because when I had gotten him from a friend that knew someone with him and they couldn’t take care of him because they “work” to much and when I had gotten him he was a little under 30lbs he was skin and bones and didn’t even know his name or anything and within a month I got him up to almost 70lbs and healthy as he’s probably ever been and he’s learning all kinds of tricks and I can walk him with and without a leash now
Great customer service

This collar works well, but it's the only style of prong collar I've ever worn so I can't offer much if you're comparing brands. The main reason I'm having my human type this review is to praise Chewy's customer service. My human ordered the wrong size collar at first and Chewy's support with reordering me a new collar was so easy and fast I barely had time to notice I didn't have a collar! Thanks for taking care of rescue dogs like me!
Comfortable for dog
on Aug 1, 2021
I have a strong 50lb. terrier with a high prey drive and have purchased two of these collars. Despite the first collar breaking (which could have possibly been user error), it is a very high quality item. I have been able to adjust size when my dog got a little heavier. She easily snapped the plastic buckles on flat collars, absolutely hates harnesses and is quite comfortable wearing this one.

I have a Rottie/Pit/Husky/Lab mix who is 78 lbs of pure muscle. I've tried everything to get him to stop pulling and this was my saving grace!! You just need to make sure it sits high up on their neck/jawline to be "correct" in how you use it. He now no longer drags me along on our walks :)
