My nearly 13 year old Lab has some muscle weakness in his back end. All the expensive tests are negative for the usual maladies. And he seems confused at times, like walking around in circles and not understanding what to do when he goes outside and barking at nothing. He has been on this food for two months or so. I can’t say he is a lot better but I can say he is a little better (seems a little more “with it”) and, more importantly, he has not gotten worse!

My dog will eat anything, and she rejected this food. I’m not sure why, but she won’t even smell it. She backs away from the bowl, shakes her head and snorts, like even the smell is totally disagreeable. I don’t know why. She has been on Hill’s Science Diet foods her whole life (she’s 17 now) and has never had a problem, but this particular formula she completely rejects, which is very unusual for her.

Made my dog worse. Be absolutely positive that your dog has cognitive issues before purchasing this product. We "thought" our dog was having CCD issues, only to find out it was Cushing's. This Brain Care lacks the protein, has too much fats, too much carbs. Made our dog worse!

Strong off putting odor

My dog had more frequent and larger bowels movements, very malodorous gas constantly on this food.

Helps with cognition and joint pain/mobility

My dog loves this food. It’s been about 3 weeks and I see a difference in his arthritis and he is sleeping much better and not wandering around the house at night

My dog loves this food. It’s been about 3 weeks and I see a difference in his arthritis and he is sleeping much better and not wandering around the house at night. He is able to lift his leg again, is sitting better and acts more like his usual happy self.

My other dogs liked the taste

Unfortunately, my picky eater would rather eat the canned food than kibble. Granted he’s old and it may be hard on his teeth.

the combination of brain and hip formula

I haven't noticed much difference. I had used the brain only formula and saw better improvement.

My dog loves food. Was concerned as some reviews stated that pieces were large. My dog only has one tooth but she is able to eat it without any issues. She is a Min Pin so she is a smaller dog. Unsure if it will help with cognitive and joint issues as this is my first order. I hope it will improve my dog's life.

He is transitioning from his old food and tolerating the new food. What surprises me most is that he eats it - he’s such a picky eater. So I’m very happy Except for the price - $60 for 8 pounds! He’s 50 pounds and 13 years old. I’m retired and have 2 other large rescue dogs that I buy an excellent food at $75 for 25 pounds (Buddy also likes it). So my dog food budget is very tight.

Major Tummy Issues with this Food

I was really hoping this food would be a good fit for my 10 year old greyhound as he had previously been eating the Brain Aging Care food and seemed to really like it. Sadly, that previous food was discontinued by Hill's (not sure why?!) and this new one is considered the replacement. Well, after a few days of gradually introducing this food into my dog's diet, he had an accident in the middle of the night which has never happened in the seven years I have had him and he has had really awful diarrhea and constipation all day today. So...sadly, I do not recommend this food.
