Agree with the latest review, they must have recently changed the recipe or something because we've been using this for 6+ months now but we got 2 shipments (after getting a replacement) and both are soupy almost, before it was crumbly texture and since switching to the new soupy version my dog had an unset tummy, bloody diarrhea for 10 days and went to the ER for treatment - we switched him to a bland food per the emergency vet's recco and things have seemed to have subsided, but nervous to start him back on this product again b/c it was so traumatic for him and us to have him with runny stools 10x a day.
My dog does NOT like this food but he will eat it if he has nothing else. But at least he doesn’t have digestive issues when he’s on this food. And that is what’s most important. Some cans are really sticky like peanut butter. Others are drier and easier for him to eat. I wish my vet would give us another choice. I worry that this will get stuck in his throat and choke him. I usually have to hand feed him a few bites and then he will be so hungry that he eats the rest.
This food has been a lifesaver for our fur baby suffering from diet-related allergies and abdominal issues. However, our experience with the textural consistency of this problem is not good. Some cans seem to have more water content than others. These cans of food result in a pasty texture that makes it difficult to consume without difficulty. We have had several incidents where the pasty texture has caused difficulty swallowing and choking. Use with caution.
My maltipoo is finally eating his food. He really likes the canned version and the treats makes it so he can have something when I give my other pups a treat.
Bought 12 cans It was the gummy and like paste My dog wouldn’t eat it I have purchased this before and it has never been like this Waste of 60.00
My dog Lucy has been on the dermatological complete dry food for a couple of years and does okay with it, but has started to balk a little about eating it. I decided to try the wet version and it is the consistency of a very dry paste. I mix with pumpkin and water and she will eat it but I would not recommend if there is another product available.
Within one day our dog went from itchy, oily skin to soft skins and almost no itching. And she ABSOLUTELY loves this food!! Thank you!!
I have two 13.5 yr old black labs and they have had itching issues and allergies for years. Just switched from Hill's Z/D. That one didn't seem to work and a Dermatology Vet likes Derm Complete. We also mix with wet. So far so good. Some of the ithching recently was due to fleas which is now under control. Wish it were less expensive!
Using the food because my vet says I have to, but the texture of this food is horrible. Like glue. We cannot just use this food because it sticks in the bowl. We have to mix other things in, which kind of defeats the purpose. When I first started using this food, it was a different formula. That one was hard and chunky, also not great, but better than this.
Food very dry and crumbly. Difficult to remove from can
