Firstly I cannot say enough good things about Chewy! I love getting the handwritten birthday cards for my pets. Delivery is always so fast and any issues are dealt with promptly by the chewy team. I have a GSDx with very sensitive skin and tummy. Our vet prescribed this food after several other $$$ prescription foods and after only 2 weeks there is a noticeable difference in his skin and coat!
Our golden retriever developed horrible dermatitis at about 1.5 years old. He lost almost so much fur he had naked patches all over, and was itching himself raw (literally). Switched to this and he is back to normal!
My dog is a fussy eater. He loves this food and eats every bite we give him! He has had so many problems with a bacteria infection. This with his meds have helped so much!
Worked great for two months (two bags). After receiving the third bag within a week my dog developed a rash on her feet with itching & scratching so I had to start her on apoquel again. I will try another brand of dog food for allergies. I do not think she has a food allergy, only environmental. She ate the food with no problems.
My dogs loved this food. It’s improved their allergies and are able to maintain a healthy coat and itch free, only downfall is the price i wish it would be cheaper
My dog suffers from seasonal allergies and food sensitivities. This gave my dog diarrhea and within 3 days of this food it made him smell like a corn chip and popcorn so strongly the whole room would smell like it. He is now on the hydrolized protein diet and he no longer has diarrhea or smells like corn chips.
This food has help so much for our pug who had crystals removed from his bladder! We are going on 9 mos now and he is crystal free! Thank you
I ordered this when the food I've been buying for a year now ran out of stock. My dog has sever food and environmental allergies and it's been such an uphill battle finding her food that she can tolerate and likes. There are a lot of fish options out there but she doesn't like fish so I have to go with another protein and options are limited for sensitive skin. This does the trick and she likes the flavor but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's improved her environmental allergies which is a shame because it should at this price point. She is now on her second bag and I was hoping to see some improvement on the allergies by now. I will continue to order this until summer is over and then I'm going to try and find a food that she can tolerate that is cheaper. No dog food should cost this much and the large bag is even smaller than the standard large bag at only 22 lbs. If you don't mind the cost, it's a good option for sensitive skin.
I’ve tried literally everything for my highly allergic silver Labrador!. He is 7 now & has severe alopecia on his sides . The appooquell didn’t help but cytopint injections every 30 days is the only relief he gets . He has had a last cell tumor removed. Recently so I cannot give him anything that suppresses his immune system ( now he is “ officially “ a cancer patient ) It’s frustrating! I tried Hills ZD a few years ago he hated it . I thought he was ok w this food I had mixed w hills WD until I got him completely ok the Derma - then I went on vacay - he stopped eating- period! I was away 2 weeks and though he was with his dog family & in a daycare during the day he just reverted back to eating just Hills WD . I honestly think it’s a waste but you can try it , as for me I’m done . I decided to try a salmon based food for him. Or simply hand make my own dog food ( I have 4 dogs So anyway I’ve seen no improvement with almost ALL the foods etc I’ve tried ! Benedryl still is the fastest way to “ knock down” those attacks ! But cytpoint is the only thing worth paying hundreds for ( he’s 119 lbs so a monthly injection is like 215$ !)
The recipe had to have changed. This was one of the only foods my dog could eat without it affecting her anal glands. Not only did the recipe change but they charge more money and don’t add the same amount of food. When my dog has anal gland issues it affects her mood. And she HATES getting her glands expressed. I wish this brand would go back to making my pup happy…
