Is the soybean oil hydrolyzed to remove the soy protein?

Has anyone noticed that many cans of this dog food have large air pockets in the middle of can of food? How can the weight be consistent as stated on can if some of the cans are not 100% full?

Answer by ChewyOct 11, 2021
The air pockets are a natural occurrence that happens during the spinning process. Each can will be filled with all of the ingredients and will then go on the conveyor belt for the cooking process, it will then go through the spinning process creating a void (air pockets). Similar to baking a cake when you stop mixing and you notice holes in the cake before baking. The cans are weighted appropriately based on the ingredients.

Is this a pate’ or more like a stew blend?

Answer by ChewyMay 26, 2021
This recipe has a pate consistency.

what are the global ingredients, and what countries do they com e from

Effective? Haven't had it long enough to comment but this is THE MOST DISGUSTING mess I've ever seen. I had to spoon feed it to my dog while trying not to throw up. Even with me spoon feeding it to her, it was getting on her face and it was difficult for her to get down. I guess it tasted ok because she did eat it. We'll try again tomorrow because pf the expense but I will see if my vet has another suggestion.

It’s Awful but no Choice

If your dog was on Hill’s rx this past year (sensitive skin) the formula changed with NO NOTICE. Thx Hill’s a great move for a product that is for dogs with stomach

If your dog was on Hill’s rx this past year (sensitive skin) the formula changed with NO NOTICE. Thx Hill’s a great move for a product that is for dogs with stomach issues. My pup had allergies to every other Hill’s product. This one is a trial but the coconut oil in it has put my girl on diarrhea medicine. And the food, it’s potatoes and eggs. Can you imagine? $73 a case for potatoes and eggs, it looks awful.

Chester loves the taste. However, this recent order was disappointing as the food was hard when I opened the cans! He still eats it but I have to warm it in microwave

Lot number with 132 as the middle 3 digits of canned Derm Complete by Hills Prescription Diet is nasty. Like a sticky gooey peanut butter. Why does Hills let this past quality control? It’s not Chewy’s fault, but I will have to cancel ordering from them. I took a break hoping these 132 cans would go away, but alas.

I’m adding in another review with the hopes the power of many will influence the company to change back to previous processing methods. Like the other posts mention, the new consistency is sticky, gross and gets stuck in her hair. At first, we thought it was expired or a mistake, but after a few months, it now seems this is here to stay. It’s a shame because it did help her stomach issues. But she is now eating much less of the can as well. We messaged the vet for alternatives.

Canned Derm Complete

It’s gummy and hard to swallow , seems to get stuck on roof of mouth, I’ve had to mix with dry kibble and warm water to make sure my dogs don’t choke! I won’t order

Super gross dog wouldn't eat

This was super gross and dog wouldn’t even entertain taking a bite. He just refused to eat. Waste of almost $70!! . I’m sad to see that they changed the formula

This was super gross and dog wouldn’t even entertain taking a bite. He just refused to eat. Waste of almost $70!! . I’m sad to see that they changed the formula because it’s already hard to change a pup to a hydrolyzed diet. This seemed to be one that dogs used to like. Oh well back to the drawing board to try to get my pup to eat.

The worst texture

This food is terrible. Hill's needs to restore it to it's previous formula. I'll be looking for a refund and I won't be buying this again
