What makes this food good for older dogs? Will it harm or under nourish a younger adult small breed dog?

Answer by ChewyDec 12, 2019
This recipe is formulated differently to ensure your senior dog is getting the required nutrients in their diet. Senior dogs require less protein and fat since they're done growing, and more fiber in their diet to support their digestive system. Oppose to the adult recipes, they're higher in protein and fat because they require the extra nutrients to support bone and muscle strength.

Hills Science Diet Adult 7+ Small Breed & Mini Breed Chicken

I ordered this product because it was advertised for my senior dog. Sometimes she eats it but other times she won't eat it unless I add air fried tender loin chicken

I ordered this product because it was advertised for my senior dog. Sometimes she eats it but other times she won't eat it unless I add air fried tender loin chicken on top and low fat can dog food. She prefers the original food for younger dogs but this recipe has barley. She isn't a fan of barley. I have to add chicken tenders and Hills low fat can food with the barley kibble. She kicks out the kibble. I've got a problem.

Tiny had diarrhea for the food he was eating for years, I could not find why so I tried to cook for him daily and this didn’t work, I was dog sitting for my daughter 2 little boy and they are on this food, there was some food in the bowl left and he ate the rest of it , he would not touch his old food, after reading the ingredients I gave it a shot and ordered a bag for him , the diarrhea was gone in a few days and he can’t get enough of the food, Tiny is 7 lb and can’t wait until feeding time! Thank you for making my Baby eat again, can’t wait to see more results .

I buy small bags of dog food because my dog is a very picky eater. Every 20 to 35 days I have to switch his dog food and I usually still have half a bag left when I buy the next one. He eats this food dry as I'm pouring it out of the bag into the dish no wet food required. Thank you for getting my very picky eater to clean his bowl.

Our 10 yr old 10 lbs Maltipoo has struggled with food her entire life. Picky eater, yes. Gastro upset, yes. kibble size too large, yes. This Science Diet recipe is perfect for her. She loves food for the first time in her life. The kibble size is small which is fantastic for small mouths. We also love that this formula is specifically designed for her size and her age. Thank you Hills Science Diet.
