What makes this food good for older dogs? Will it harm or under nourish a younger adult small breed dog?
Answer by • Dec 12, 2019
This recipe is formulated differently to ensure your senior dog is getting the required nutrients in their diet. Senior dogs require less protein and fat since they're done growing, and more fiber in their diet to support their digestive system. Oppose to the adult recipes, they're higher in protein and fat because they require the extra nutrients to support bone and muscle strength.

I was in shock when I opened the bag. I have never seen such tiny pellets. I wanted to return it but I already opened the bag. I thought this food was going to be a bit smaller but had no idea it was this small.
My dog was also in shock because he just sniffed it and then dumped the bowl over. He would not eat it. It took 4-5 days before he would go near it. I had to mix it with his regular dry food. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS FOOD AGAIN.

No stink
Most dog foods and snacks stink and makes almost all parts of the dog stink. All the stink goes out their pores, and their breath stinks so bad not with science diet.

Not what it used to be
Not for my Pomeranian. It caused her skin to darken which meant a reaction. Switched back to Wilderness which has always worked well for my dogs.

Just the Right Size
Gabby is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier. When she was younger, she did alot of heavy chewing. Needless to say, it took a bit of a tole on her teeth. Gabby didn't seem to be enjoying her Hills small breed food as much as she had. I started searching and found Hills Small Paws that has kibble about the size of the small breed food. Problem solved! Gabby is enjoying her food much more. The changeover was seamless with my tender tummy little girl. Thank you Hills and Chewy!
