Questions & Answers

34 Customer Questions

I have a small cat, about 6 pounds. I was feeding her the Hill’s Science kitten food but she is now over a year old. I am looking for an adult kibble but with small pieces for her small mouth, similar to the size of the kitten kibble. Is this a good option, or can you suggest another product?

Why do you say "corn gluten meal" is safe for cats but other sites says it unhealthy and cats can not digest it well?

Answer by ChewyJul 17, 2020
Corn gluten meal is created by removing starch, bran and germ from the corn kernel to create a protein-rich ingredient. As a high-quality source of protein, it helps strengthen and maintain your pet’s muscles.

I was needing to find a new cat food because the purina beyond chicken and egg had been discontinued. I tried this because science diet is a trusted brand but unfortunately this food caused my cat to be constipated. I did a slow introduction to this food and by the time he had half this and half his old food he was lethargic and constipated. Took days to reregulate his system after stopping this food.

The large bag of cat food I ordered was torn in the delivery box. Food was spilled out of the bag and into the box, making a mess and basically ruining the food, which couldn't be reloaded into the torn bag. I used the Chewy chatbot, which agreed in a matter of minutes to replace the entire bag. The new bag arrived the next day in perfect shape.

Bummed. There was no padding a box and then a heavier back of food and of course the bag tore open in the box. When we opened it it was just a mess. Husband is still picking up cat food and attempting to fix. It’s a 15 pound bag so pretty heavy! A lot of food.

I asked to have Perfect Weight to be put on my next order. My cats are eating this and the smell and the look of this doesn’t compare to perfect diet. They don’t like it as well. They seem to be gaining weight. They dont need that. I tried the other because it was cheaper.

Our 2-year-old domestic short hair Tabby, Misty, has had to throttle back on her consumption of Hill's Science Diet Adult Indoor Chicken Recipe Dry Cat Food. She was eating too much, and our veterinarian wants her a couple pounds lighter. Misty now usually devours the 1 1/2 tablespoons of kibble, given twice daily, in her 1st pass. She also usually eats about 2.8 ounces of wet food daily.

We have been buying this kibble for 3 years. In the past 3 years the kibble size has shrunk tremendously. They are typically a rouder triangular shape. The shape has changed over time and most recently it is now shrunk down to a thinner triangle with visible holes. The price is still the same, yet the amount of kibble has drastically changed. This is unacceptable. I will be switching to a different brand that does not put the cost of cutting corners on the production quality of the product on the consumer.

Great Food

My calico loves this food. She meows while I am washing her bowl and attempts to curl around my feet as if to say “Mom what’s taking you so long to fill my bow

Cats like it!

I've switched over (slowly) from the Light formula to this indoor formula after my fat cat failed to lose any weight. I read the nutrition labels on several SD varieties and I'm hoping this indoor formula will satisfy her cravings better than Light formula. This indoor formula has slightly more calories than Light, but still less than non-indoor formulas. It also has moderate fat and protein, which may help her feel full longer than Light which was low fat, less protein. I'll continue to control her food intake and see if she drops any weight and quits constantly meowing for more food.
