Please see below for the feeding guide.

Does this product affect dogs with yeast issues?
Answer by ChewyMar 25, 2018
This formula is not intended to diagnose, cure or prevent medical conditions or disease. We recommend consulting a vet before feeding. Each pet is unique so we encourage you to seek professional guidance to select the best products along with their current health.

From where are all ingredients sourced? I not talking about where the finished product is manufactured. I want to know about the raw materials.
Answer by ChewyDec 29, 2017
The Honest Kitchen sources most of its ingredients in the USA. No ingredients come from China. They source basil and marjoram in Africa. Sweet potatoes, organic quinoa, apples, organic chia seeds, and pumpkin from South America. Bananas, organic coconuts, and papaya come from Asia. All other ingredients are either sourced from the USA or Europe.

How much does the dog base make ? Does it make the 7 lb box it says or more ?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2018
The 3 pound box makes 12 pounds of food and the 7 pound box makes 29 pounds.

Vegetable Soup!

My dog recently started having trouble with his kidneys (drinking extra water, excessive urination, and nighttime incontinence) and I immediately suspected his diet. I'd already been adding Honest Kitchen base mixes to his kibble, and so I was able to switch and use the base mix as the primary food source. I'm still figuring out how to make the reduced protein diet work for my dog, but it was a huge relief to have a high quality dehydrated dog food that he's already used to eating. It's been a stressful time, but by shifting his diet to Honest Kitchen plus protein toppers, I've been able to control the amount of protein and still feel confident that my dog is getting all the nutrition he needs

makes raw or home cooked meals so easy

We’ve tried the dehydrated complete meals in the past but I was looking for a way to save a bit of money. The base mix goes a long way for a little dog and I like that I can rotate the protein sources. I use natures variety instinct raw mixers, salmon oil, a few other supplements and then add some cooked meat. My dog goes crazy for it, her stools are small and hardly smell at all and her coat is so soft and shiny. Highly recommend! :)

Please make sure your pup can digest carrot

I am always a big fan of the Honest Kitchen since it was recommended by lot of my friends. And I have already tried their beef and chicken recipes for my pup’s very first few months, when we were been told she came with sensitive gut and digestion condition (10 mounts old corgi). However, when we decided to try their vegetable mix food something went wrong, my pup starts to potty weird. Firstly she had hard time to poop on-time as usual (30mins per 6hours, morning/noon/night). We have to walk her out more often (10mins per 2hours) to make sure she feels comfortable to potty. When she finally got potty on the schedule, her poop color changed dramatically into light yellow color which also extremely soft so that too hard to pick them up. With that I can clearly saw the carrot pieces and some other green/yellow vegetable mix that can’t be digest right by my pup. When I try to figure out what upset her stomach I didn’t realize it was the vege mix, I thought it maybe because the new treat that I bought from trader joe, then when I stop fed her with any kind of treat she still can’t poop right, I realized it is the vegetable mix with too much carrot that she can’t digest right. Now I have the largest box of this vegetable mix food which have no idea how to feed my pup, also I don’t think I can donate it because I’m worried about what if it will upset other dogs gut health. Maybe I will have to figure out how to pick those carrots out firstly.

Picky chihuahua didn't like this 1

I ordered 4 new to me raw food base mixtures to try as my chihuahua decided he no longer would eat the 1 I had been using. He wasn't a fan of this 1. My other dogs ate it without issue. I didn't like the consistency of this mixture.

five stars = four paw salute

My Havanese rescue sends a four paw salute for the Veggie, Seed and Nut base mix. I had been getting the Honest Kitchen mix with fruit and noticed that my dog spent much longer licking bowl after a meal with this product! She heartily approves.

we have loved this for three years and on

Great mix! There are so few dog foods that are grain, fish and pea free. We are grateful to be able to feed our pup venison that we hunt with this mix of amazing veggies and more! It’s a powerhouse of ingredients!

Upset tummy.

I usually feed my pup the fruit and veggie base mix from The Honest Kitchen, but it’s been out of stock from Chewy and the company’s direct website. I bought this as an alternative to get me by, but my pup got an upset tummy from it. It also has dried garlic in it, which there’s some controversy about whether dogs should consume garlic. It’s probably a small amount, but I’m wondering if that’s what was bothering my pup.
