I used to feed this to my dog with no worries at all. Then I noticed they re-formulated the recipe. When you open the bag the meat smells rancid and old. I have one bag of goat formula and two bags of the turkey. I called sojos to inform them of the issue. They did not seem concerned at all. What bothers me is I found out they sold their company and I fear they are useing inferior ingredients. When I asked where they source their meat from all they would say was they get it in the u.s. I am switching to honest kitchen dog food. They are very up front and transparent about ingredients and where they are sourced from. After 3 different bags of sojos with they same problem I can not continue I used to feed this to my dog with no worries at all. Then I noticed they re-formulated the recipe. • Out of Control

The bag used to be 8 lbs and now it's 7 lbs and I'm paying the same price for less food. When will it end?? Not only is it less food, but the new formula doesn't absorb water very well. I don't have time for premixing and sometimes have to add another kind of food to it, in order to thicken it up. These companies change things out of the blue and disregard customer input. My dog likes the food, but may have to move on to another brand after feeding my dog Sojos for 2 years. This happens every few years because of too many marketing schemes, it's a constant battle.

  • Dissapointed

    By on

I am disappointed in the recent changes in the weight and formula of Sojos Complete Turkey Recipe Adult Grain-Free Freeze-Dried Raw Dog Food. To remove a whole pound of Food taking it from 8lbs to 7lbs with out notice. We have a dog that has intentional issues and changing the ingredients would have been important information to know ahead of time so we could have planned for the nutritional changes. Disappointed in Sojos.

  • Sojos raw diet

    By on

We have been feeding our Ridgeback Sojos dehydrated raw diet since she was a puppy. She is now 10 years old. Our last 2 Ridgebacks each got cancer before 10. We had a breeder tell us about the raw diet and how it is much healthier than the commercial dog foods that we had fed our other dogs. Apparently a raw grain free diet does make a difference. Our girl is healthy and happy at 10, and we expect her to stay that way! She doesn't even have very many grey hairs!

  • What happened?!

    By on

My dog used to LOVE this food! But recently with the new bag style and I presume a reformulation, she hates it. Plus it’s more expensive for a pound less of food?? But regardless she won’t eat it now. What happened to this once amazing food, Sojos?

  • Dogs Love This Food!

Recently one of my dogs was diagnosed with Cushings. In looking for a new food I came across SOJOS. Not only has it helped in my dogs overall health but he acts like he is 3 years old. He is 11.

  • Sojos turkey raw

Very good product. Easy to store, easy to mix, not too expensive, and of course my dog loves it! Only one thing I noticed with this particular bag (I've bought Sojos before) is that it takes a longer time than expected to fully hydrate (even if I let stand for 24 hrs.) --> I solved the problem by putting in just a little less water. Otherwise, great!

  • Sojos is My Dog's Mojo

My dog Koda absolutely loves Sojos. I was feeding him kibble before (top notch kibble, I may add) and he was so bored of it, he would skip his meals. I checked Sojos out because I really wanted to get Koda on raw dog food for the sake of his health. Koda has been eating this food for about a few weeks now, and he STILL runs to the bowl--he doesn't think of it as food--but as a treat. After he finishes his bowl he runs over to me happy and ready to play, which makes me happy! Not to mention, Koda's coat looks shinier, his teeth are cleaner, and his energy levels are more maintained throughout the day (which is good because he's an 8-month-old puppy). • My dog loves it!

I add this on top of my dog's kibble (I and Love and You), so it makes up about 1/3 to 1/2 of her food (sometimes kibble only). I recommend that you pre-mix a 4-day batch and let it sit over night to absorb the water for best results (otherwise it's soupy). I use slightly less water than recommended. You can store it in the refrigerator for up four days. My dog comes running, when I mix it or take it out of the refrigerator. I tasted a tiny bit, and it's pretty good. My dog experienced no stomach upset. I switched away from Orijen, after reading the ratings on Clean Label Project. My dog seems to feel better, and has healthy poops; glad that I switched.

background, 2 dogs: 5yo terrier mix "Bagheera" (uber hyperactive, would go days with only nibbling her food and then gobble it all up when I break down and put milk in her bowl) and 12yo chihuahua "Rico" (grumpy, chunky, old man who would remind us of mealtimes every morning/night because he was most certainly starving to death). We got the beef flavor first in the 2lb bag, and while being prepared both dogs would be impatiently waiting RIGHT at our feet...and then inhale their food (inhale to the point that we were pulling their bowls away occasionally to make sure they didn't choke). We got the turkey flavor in the big bag and the result was the same. We got the turkey flavor in the big bag and the result was the same. I will say that the turkey bag seemed to have more chunks than the beef did - not sure if that's due to the bag size difference. Bagheera now is INSISTENT on following mealtimes and she has gained some weight (which she needed), Rico is now completely satisfied throughout the day and has started slimming down (which was needed). Rico losing weight is a huge deal - he's been battling serious food allergies and has been on a perpetual diet, with no results, for the last 3 years. Not to mention both dogs now have breath that is almost tolerable, not rancid like it was before (they get regular teeth cleanings, they just have bad breath). We will continue using this food as the health effects are already obvious after only a month of using! … more
