Questions & Answers

2 Customer Questions

1. How much to feed a 75lb. Labrador Retriever that is very active? 2. Is the salmon oil used sourced from Farm or Wild Salmon?
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2020
For Adult dogs, feed 3/4 - 1 1/4 cans per 15 pounds of body weight per day. Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size, and activity level of your dog. If you are unsure, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian. The salmon oil is sourced from wild-caught salmon.

can you intermix the different varieties of Hound and Gatos for your dog? Say Pork one week and turkey the other? or do you only feed one variety?
Answer by ChewyJan 16, 2019
A slow transition will be the easiest. Plan for the process to take about a week. Days 1 and 2, mix 25% of the new food in with the old food. If the change is tolerated well, increase the transition to 50% new food. Continue for a few days then increase the new food to 75%, then 100% after a couple more days. Be sure to mix the “old” food with Hound & Gatos – don’t offer each food separately. If transitioning from kibble, you can just add the can as a topper to the kibble. If loose stools occur, keep the ratio of old/new food at the current ratio for a couple of days until the stools firm back up.

We love it!

Luna can be a bit of a picky eater, but she inhaled this. I couldn't get a photo with food in the bowl because it was gone so quickly. We do mix it with dry food and she'll try to eat all of the wet before she even touches the dry. So happy we had the chance to try this!
