Would NOT recommend
Do NOT recommend at all! I know how to slowly transition a dog from one food to another, and was slowly transitioning my puppy to Iams. We had used Iams with our previous dog for more than 15 years, and our experience was excellent, hence the reason for switching our new puppy onto Iams. Within three days of starting a slow transition to Iams, our puppy woke up in the middle of the night with extremely loose black stools. We gave him a rice & boiled meat diet for several days, and then went back to the slow switch to Iams. Once again he had loose stools in the middle of the night. This has ONLY happened to him while on the Iams. We didn't finish the bag of Iams, but inadvertently got the next bag on Auto-ship. Chewy did refund part of the purchase price (definitely not the whole price of the bag) and said we could donate it to a shelter. I don't feel great about donating it, though, as it made my pup SO sick.
Didn't work for our boys
This wasn't great for our boxers. They had loose stools and really horrible gas. We have since started a fish-based food that is working fantastic for them. We now think that their issues with different brands of foods were due to a chicken intolerance, as that was the common denominator with all the foods we tried. This food is a decent economical option if your dog tolerates it. It is also a safe food regarding the recent DCM and grain-free issue, which was one of the reasons I tried it with our pups. IAMS has been around for a long time and has a decent track record. I wish this had worked out for our pups.
Great food for our Golden puppies
This food was recommended by the breeder of our two Golden Retriever puppies. They have both done very well on this food. We do supplement with a bit of Iams canned food, pumpkin, hard-boiled eggs and cottage cheese with one meal, but they love the food dry.

My 4 month old Dobermann absolutely loves this food, and he’s so excited to see it when I put it in his bowl. His coat, teeth, and skin look great and he’s definitely gaining weight on a steady basis. 10/10 recommend!

Beyond satisfied
The ingredients are great for this price. We’ve been using this food for our border collie since he was 2 months. He’s 7 months now and with this as his primary food he grew bigger than we expected. He has also always looked healthy with a beautiful shiny coat and has lots of energy. We are so pleased with this particular food that we plan to use it all the way up to 18 months.
