Does this product contain GMO ingredients?
Answer by ChewyNov 08, 2017
This product does contain GMO ingredients.

How many 1 cup servings are in a 21 lb bag?
Answer by ChewyJun 23, 2018
There is approximately 16 cups of food in the 4 pound bag, 40 cups of food in the 10 pound bag, and 84 cups in the 21 pound bag.

What ingredients do you use that is from other countries including China?
Answer by ChewyJul 15, 2019
All poultry comes from the U.S. . The vegetables and fruits are from the U.S. and Europe. Grains and starches are sourced from the U.S., Canada, and Brazil - herbs and spices from North America and Europe. Vitamins and minerals are from North America, Europe, and Asia. Instinct takes every step to source non-China ingredients where they can. They do not source any meat, poultry or fish from China. The kibble diets may contain minor ingredients (vitamins, trace nutrients) sourced from China to ensure supply is guaranteed.

Why does it say for all stages except large size puppies?
Answer by ChewyJul 10, 2019
Large breed puppies have really specific nutrients since they grow so fast compared to other puppies. When a recipe is not complete and balanced diet for large breeds puppies, it's usually due to the calcium and phosphorus content in the food. The Instinct by Nature's Variety Raw Boost Large Breed Puppy Grain-Free Recipe with Real Chicken Dry Dog Food is a great option for large breed puppies.

My Picky Dog Eats This Kibble!

The headline says it all! I have tried to get my 83 lb. (all muscle and fur) golden retriever to eat kibble, and he hates it -- who can blame him? So, I always give him a combination of table scraps and kibble, and the kibble always stayed in the bowl -- whether it was pricey, high-quality kibble (which, as a dog mom, I prefer) or junk-food-type kibble (hey, it's worth a shot). Then my sister suggested Instinct Kibble + Raw Boost, and now his hunger strike is over and the bowl is empty! And, it's quality dog food! It is pricey, but it is worth it because I'm sure I've spent more on all that dog food that I ended up tossing into the trash.

not enough fiber

I switched my 50lb Goldendoodle to this from purina pro plan (slowly, per package instructions) bc I liked the increase in protein % and raw food sources but was disappointed with the decrease in % fiber. My dog enjoys the food and was so excited for meal time but this stuff ran through her.. terrible diarrhea, and some vomiting. I’ve had her tested for intolerances and the ingredients in this food are great for her but not sure why it caused such an upset stomach still months after switching brands. Going to try the whole grain recipe chicken and brown rice and see if she just needs grain/higher fiber than this recipe. Also looked into the sensitive stomach recipe and that just adds the ingredient pumpkin but at such a minimal amount it wasn’t worth it, I just add puréed pumpkin or native pet pumpkin powder.

Dog wasn't impressed

I should have looked a little closer before ordering this food. I thought it was freeze dried only. Unfortunately, on my wrong own doing for not looking more closely at the description, I received the kibble with raw. My dog was not impressed by it and only picks out the raw food. He will nibble a little bit on the kibble but typically walks away from it. He does like Instinct raw though. So a huge plus there. It seems to be a good product, and all dogs are different so I would tell a friend to try it, but buy a small bag just incase the dog is as picky as mine.

diarrhea

I bought this food for my pug and mini Aussie and mixed it with their old blue Buffalo to start to wean them off of it since they don’t have the best ingredients. My mini Aussie has had diarrhea all over my dining room rug everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, since switching. I figured it was just because it was a new food and it would stop eventually but it hasn’t. My house reaks of dog poop. Unfortunately, we will be switching back to blue Buffalo which I’m not in love with. Ughhhhh

My babygirl loves it :)!

My girl, Bailey, loves this food especially when adding on her meal toppers. I've never had any issues and she eats so well when it comes to this food.

Great kibble

My bichon-poo picked at her food until I bought this Instinct kibble that she devours twice a day.

Tummy troubles

This is terrible dog food. My boys have both had nothing but tummy troubles in the last 2 days. Discontinuing immediately.
