My 11 year old German Shepherd requires a low to no fat diet. I have been cooking rice and oatmeal with lean meat of fish for months but I was concerned that he was not getting the vitamin and minerals that come in dog food. I have been supplementing my home cooking with this product. I eased it into his diet slowly and so far so good. He like it very much as it has more flavor than my bland diet cooking but not enough to upset his stomach. He still has issues with gas pain but I use a cold laser treatment after feeding any meal and he Burps and feels better. I recommend this product the fish is great and my dog has an allergy to chicken so this works well.

The first couple of times I gave this to my dog, he gobbled it right up. However, on the third day (and I was giving him very small amounts, adding it to his typical food), he threw it all up about 30 minutes later. Now he wants nothing to do with it. I had previously tried a different recipe of JFFD and that gave him diarrhea, so I think it's safe to say this is not a good brand for my dog.

This is one of the foods our vet prescribed as suitable for my dog's IBD. She took half a sniff, gave me a look of pure disgust and walked away. I tried again a few hours later, same reaction. This is very expensive for what you get -- mostly sweet potato and rice, with a small amount of fish mixed in. Disappointing.

We went thru bags and bags of different dry food that eliminated fat and protein. None of them worked for her. This fresh food, while very expensive, is the only one she can digest and tolerate. It’s brought her back to normal. I’ll hate to have to give it up.

A Worthy Fight for Quality Nutrition!

As the parent of a wonderful, large dog, my 105-lb German Shepherd American Bulldog mix, who deals with a challenging combination of allergies, hip dysplasia, arthritis, and pancreatitis, I know the struggle of finding food that truly helps. I fought hard to get the necessary veterinary sign-off for this food, and I can tell you it was absolutely worth the effort! I was determined to get my girl off heavily processed, hydrolyzed diets, and this JustFoodForDogs formula is a crucial step in that journey. It contains human grade, whole ingredients that I know and trust, which gives me peace of mind when feeding her. My Experience and Encouragement We are transitioning very, very slowly and intentionally, mixing half a pouch of this food daily with her current hydrolyzed diet and a holistic vet recommended supplement. While we are still monitoring for any potential changes, like a UTI risk, which is a consideration with any dietary change, I have been happy with the initial results and the quality of the food. I can't wait to see her fully transitioned! If your dog is facing similar health challenges, I highly suggest working with your vet to explore this food. Because it's a veterinary exclusive diet, a doctor’s guidance is essential to ensure it supports your pet's specific health needs and doesn't "backfire" if not watched carefully. If you're looking for a fresh, whole-food alternative to help manage multiple complex conditions, this product is an incredible option. Trust your instincts, talk to your vet, and give your baby the best chance at feeling good!

Poor delivery

The food product is excellent but your delivery isn’t. This took exactly a week to receive and it was already starting to thaw.
