    NOT Mouldy!

    By on

The product description on Chewy made this brand of feed sound good, but after placing my order I came back and read reviews on here that really got me dreading receiving my purchase. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! Many reviews on here state the feed arrived moldy, but my bag of feed is fresh, with a clean organic grainy bready smell, and my girls love it! I’m going to assume the mound issue was simply a bad batch. It’s not hard to picture this stuff molding because it looks and smells so natural and organic, I doubt it has all the preservative junk that other feeds have. I would honestly recommend this grain to anyone who plans on responsibly storing it in a clean, dry environment The product description on Chewy made this brand of feed sound good, but after placing my order I came back and read reviews on here that really got me dreading receiving my purchase. Feed review

Crumble came as dust. I would not purchase again. Chickens will not eat it. If you just need a very fine powder it would work, but not a crumble.

    Great for layers

    By on

I have silkie chickens and if you know about silkies they do not lay eggs as often as regular chickens. Usually 3 a week on average. I switched over to this food and walked out the other morning to 3 eggs in one day! Since switching, I get 1-3 eggs daily. Very high for a silkie. When I walk out to throw food to scratch they run as fast as they can as happy as can be for this food. They definitely did not get as excited over their old food.

My chickens love this feed. I just recently switched to this brand because Chewy delivers and im lazy haha. So far my girls love it, they are eating more than the old food...makes me wonder if they even liked the old food.

Moldy - It all got thrown away.

    By on

Purchased two 50lb bags of these crumbles to supplement what my birds normally eat. After dumping the first bag into the multiple feeders, it was clear the flock wasn't going crazy for it. Open the second bag to dump into the feed storage containers and right there on top was a clump of molded food the size of my palm. Scattered throughout were bits of green/blue/gray molded crumbles. Tossed all 100lbs of this feed where it belongs - the garbage.

    More Eggs/ Better Production.

I’ve had chickens for a couple years now and love to spoil them, I have fed them another brand since the beginning and on a whim decided to try this because of the pre/probiotics and being an all natural feed, not to mention I also liked the idea of it being in a 50 lb bag. With all that being said, the color of the crumble was a little lighter and smaller in appearance than the previous feed, I fed it to the chickens off and on and quite honestly wasn’t sure about it. At first the hens didn’t seem to eat as much so I thought they didn’t really like it. However, I have noticed that every time I have put this in their feeder, (I fill enough daily for 11 hens) the next day, I get a minimum of I’ve had chickens for a couple years now and love to spoil them, I have fed them another brand since the beginning and on a whim decided to try this because of the pre/probiotics and being an all natural feed, not to mention I also liked the idea of it being in a 50 lb bag. I’ve noticed an average of 4 eggs a day with the other brand. This is a little more expensive than the other, but only by about 18 cents a pound or so and given the greater egg count, 50lbs feed instead of 40, free shipping to my door, I am convinced it the best bang for my buck (and chickens) really. … more
