Iv been buying this product for a few months. I noticed there's not much seed in this mix. You say it comes from Wisconsin? Then why does it say comprised in China? I have several questions. How can this product be healthy for the birds if it's mostly grain and corn? You say you don't give out the recipe? It's bird seed for Pete's sake. It's not like your giving out a deep government secret. Its bird food. Where is the SEED? What is the seed ratio? DO I HAVE TO BUY SEED TO MIX WITH WhaT IV BOUGHT? And what's this about China? I THOUGHT this was American made??
This bird food is comprised mostly of meal and corn. Very little seed if any. I don’t see how they can advertise this product as bird food and Chewy’s should know this and not be selling it on their website. Because of this, I don’t feel I can trust Chewy’s any longer in insuring the products they sell are reputable. Nor should you. Beware!
Most bird seed has a lot of fillers that I don't want....like corn kernels. This bird seed food is great and holds up to the standards of Chewy which is a great and reliably way of buying pet foods.
I wish they’d list the ingredients because it difficult to tell what is in the bag when ordering online. This blend is very heavy on the corn and has less seeds in it. This ends up mostly getting eaten by the squirrels and the squirrels make it run out really fast. I’m going to order some black sunflower seeds to mix in, I think and then order a different blend in the future.
Most of this brand--new to us--ended up on the ground, not being sought after or picked up at the feeder by the songbirds. I would not recommend.
This birdseed was great in the spring and I had all different species showing up them suddenly the birds have become very selective and scatter this particular brand and hardly visit the feeder? I have noticed the sunflower seeds are very lean and my cardinals and other songbirds have not been here in a while... The deer love it however. Perhaps all the corn in it... Anyway.. I'm changing brands to see if the song birds come back..
This is really economical for a 20-lb bag, and has lots of ingredients that a wide variety of birds seem to like. But ... this is SO dusty and gross. White powder everywhere, tons of cracked chunks of corn and other seed that end up all over the place, and the dust clogs up the feeders. This was ok, but given how messy this is (and how much ends discarded by the birds), I'll probably not get it again.
I guess this food is full of filler. I've noticed a slower rotation of birds. The seed I had before they went through greedily .... not this though. Also, found out peanuts if they aren't crushed can cause issues to small birds. Do a quick google ... so disappointed. I bought large bags and feel like I wasted my money.
Thhhe. Bird food is nice this is my first time feeding the birds. They really like to. I have to refill my feeder every other day. Last night someone or birds tried to take the food out of my bag. It was spread all over my deck . I am moving it day.
My birds love the Kaytee's songbird formula but they won't touch this. (main ingredient is grain product?). Wonder if it's stale or gone bad.. anyway I will stick with the songbird blend, will have to throw this one out!
