Kaytee Food from the Wild Medley Small Pet Bird Treats, 3-oz bag

I've worked at a specialty parrot shop for nearly five years, and am incredibly picky about what I'll feed my beloved little moustache parakeet. I'll be honest: I'm not a fan of Kaytee's processed foods due to all the added sugar, coloring, corn, wheat, and soy. I DO love their Food From The Wild line! It contains no added sugar or preservatives, which is difficult to find. I use this as one of many carefully-selected components of my parrot's pellet mix. My parrot adores all of the ingredients, and they're healthy in moderation, too! Why I like these ingredients: Papaya is a superfood for parrots. Pineapple has a lot of Vitamin C. Bell peppers contain Vitamin A, and contribute to healthy-sharp choanal papillae. Currants are rich in Vitamin C, antioxidants, and omega-6. Almonds are a good source of protein, calcium, and healthy fats. The ingredients are all cut to roughly the same size, allowing for even distribution in your baby's pellet mix! They're also appropriately-sized for even the smallest parrots. (The shop I work for routinely includes ingredients of this size in our smallest birds' food, and they do eat it, quite happily.) Whether you're feeding this as a treat or part of a healthy pellet mix, this is a solid component to your bird's diet.
