We have two kitties that need novel proteins for different reasons. Unfortunately neither of them have cared for any of them, and I have offered all of them from different companies. Luckily I have found some very small quantities, almost like samples, by searching a lot. I really wish these companies that produce these would realize this is very expensive, and many cats don't care for these new flavors. Offer much smaller packs, maybe 12 cans, instead of 24 or 36. Also, smaller packs would make it easier to provide variety.

The other would stare and follow me for a different meal. They gave up after a day of testing me with no outcome. Goodness it's like cat crack for them. I use it as a topper since I cannot afford to have it on regular rotation. Too good lol

It's becoming extremely common for brands to not offer or to discontinue pate for cats, especially for sensitive stomach and digestion foods. Kangaroo is one of the single source proteins that's inherently great for kitties with sensitive stomachs and digestion. Being a pate is even better because chunky bits that other brands offer for their sensitive diet options can be difficult for some kitties to chew and swallow. I was a tad bit hesitant to offer it to our six cats because they can be extremely picky eaters but I was genuinely surprised they ate voraciously when they usually take their time and don't finish their meals. The 5.5oz cans are pretty big for cat pate, larger than what we're used to, so it was easy to split each can in half to feed two cats for one meal or split in half for AM and PM meals. This is great because the price can be quite a shock for some pet owners so rationing out portions to extend how much you have in stock can help bring some of that sticker shock down. It's entirely worth it in my opinion as all of our kitties have solid stools and no one was having accidents or throwing up like what had happened with other brands or non-sensitive stomach and digestion foods. The only con would be FedEx shipping combined with the thinner tins because a few of them arrived broken although I put more of that on FedEx not caring about their customer's packages and throwing them willy nilly while on security cameras. I would definitely get this again for my kitties but being on a fixed income means this is something to order when they really need a focus on their sensitive stomach diets.

I give my cats 1/4 of a can each, which leaves 1/2 left. I put it in the fridge for 24 hours, typically they are a bit more picky when it’s been left in the fridge, but they gobbled it all down again!

The KOHA Limited Ingredient Diet Kangaroo Entree Pate appears to be a very moist pate, in that it is not dry and gummy when you open the can. It is easy to serve and my cats acted as if it was the best thing they had ever had for about 20 seconds. Then they would not eat any more of it. But that is not a critique of the KOHA, it is my cats. I was hoping that they would love this food, but they have never been happy with pate. It was such high quality food that I did not want it to be a total loss, so I asked my neighbor if she would like to try it for her cats. She accepted and she told me her cats loved it. I told her that it came from Chewy and she told me she is going to shop for it there.

Cats hate it. I don’t know what kangaroo tastes like but it probably doesn’t taste like fish. And that and some chicken/ rabbit/ lamb is all they ever eat. I really wanted them to like this because it’s really high quality with no junk fillers and preservatives but they’re both just super super picky. Which is hilarious because one was feral as a kitten and the other was a shelter cat.

I’ve been looking for a limited ingredient cat food that was also a novel protein to help my little left with her IBD and Kona’s kangaroo was the best bang for my buck. She’s used to having a variety of flavors but we’ve switched her to solely this food for about a month now and she loves it!
