Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

I’ve been buying these for more than 15yrs. I will no longer be buying them. As others have said, they now immediately crack along the seams. I thought it was a fluke the first time, but it continuously happens. The quality is just horrible now. Very sad. Chewy, you should do a better job sourcing your products. Unless people speak up and refuse to support poor practices it continues.
This is not the first time I have bought these balls. We get them for our GSD. She is a hard chewer. Other reviewers have complained that the ball doesn’t hold up. I have bought similar balls at the big box stores, and I have found them to perform no differently from these. Hey, they get chewed on when she’s bring them back in between throws they’re gonna wear out. If they didn’t they would only need to sell one in the package instead of six. It worth it given the joy it brings my puppers.
My two year old Australian cattle/eskimo/poo loves these balls. A little TOO much! She tears the felt off them so easily and unfortunately, that’s dangerous. I don’t recommend these for a dog that chews at all. I’m going to try out a regular tennis ball and see if that works any better.
KONG products have always been very tough which we expected when we purchased these balls but were VERY disappointed by how quickly our dog broke them, usually within 30 minutes. Definitely will not repeat!
Ball splits in 2 halves underneath the outer felt and no longer bounces after not much play by my 15 lbs terrier. Only lasts a week of her playing with a ball. NOT what I expected from A KONG product…. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
We have a 50lb lab/pit mix and he destroys these in about 5 minutes. It’s tough because he loves the squeaker and chewing on them so much, but it’s just not worth buying. I expected it to hold up a little more for the Kong reputation. It’s just not worth risking him swallowing the yellow fuzz or getting the squeaker out. If you have a stronger chewer, easy pass on this one.
I have a five and a half boy Yorkie and a four and a half girl Yorkie and they love the large balls! I use them with the Nerf gun and it takes awhile to wear them out! They both get a grip and brings me the ball back together!
My 2 year old doxie mix is obsessed with balls and squeakers. Problem is, he destroys any toy that isn’t a ball in a matter of minutes, so I got these. Kong sells a translucent plastic ball that holds up to abuse pretty well and I thought these would be the same. Nope. In a matter of minutes he had destroyed half of the ball before I could take it from him. If your dog isn’t a chewer, these are for them. If your dog has a miniature version of the jaws of life in their head, avoid! Don’t do it!
Belle likes these, though nit as much as the Hartz squeaky balls. She will drop these to go after the softer rubber ones. But she does still play with them.
These Kong balls do not last. Bought them for my Labrador and the balls split when he catches the hem and chews on them. He has people tennis balls and another dog brand of balls and they have held up very well. Some or two-three years old and played with daily. I am disappointed in Kong
