Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

So far, so good. Typically my pup destroys all toys in a 5-30 minutes--soft toys (even ones with sturdy ropes instead of stuffing), nylon toys, balls, ropes, and even other hard rubber type toys. However, after a week her Tire toy is still her toy of choice and in great condition. My pup especially seems interested in the tire rolling and bouncing in an unpredictable way when I play with her. For others with the same problem, I have not used it for treats because it is so successful as a toy I don't want to risk losing it. I use the black Extreme Kong (like the red one) for stuffing treats for that which keeps her busy for a relatively long time, and then I take it away to reduce extra chewing.
At first my two boys weren't too interested. I put just a couple treats inside the rim and they both love chewing on it long after the treats were gone. My super chewer has had it for non stop half an hour now and hasn't destroyed it yet. Not even close, lol
This toy smells so awful, even after two washings. We put peanut butter on it, but our dog can't smell the yummy treat over the awful rubber stench. She won't touch it. We had another one a year or two ago, and it didn't smell like this.
I was shocked at the horrific chemical/petroleum stench of this toy. I tried washing it, but it did nothing. Why would anyone subject their pet to that? It is going straight into the garbage can.
This tire really gets going- rolls fast and straight. Amara bullydog loves to find treats in her KONG tire but doesn't use it as a chew toy. The Wilderness Trail Treats fit well and stay inside when the tire rolls. Another great toy from KONG.
very sturdy toy that won't be chewed up easily but it's difficult for my boxer to get the treat out of it. Perhaps a small dog can get their tongue in it. My dog does like to chase it so all is not lost.
Finally, a toy for my two Rottweilers, that they can't destroy in two minutes. They have so much fun tugging with it. I highly recommend this toy.
Was skeptical about this lasting, given our 7 mos old terrier puppy's track record, but this is the only thing that hasn't been destroyed in a couple of sessions. She even gets annoyed/bored and goes to other things when she wants to destroy. For longer chew sessions, she lazily chews on it for a really long time. Space to add PB on the inside if you really wanted, we don't.
My dog is a very aggressive chewer!!!! She literally destroys toys in minutes! Then only thing I could find for her is the kong Extreme line of products, so far so good ! Yes she still destroys the toys, but she has it for about a good week instead of literally 15 mins.
While Loki prefers to attempt tug of war with the tire (not recommended for your fingers' sake!) he will lay quietly and chew on it or spaz out and toss it around (fun to watch!). My mom's pup loves this and he was so fun to watch when he played with it that I bought one for mine. So basically this is a 2 person 5 star review!
