Assumed that because it was made by KONG for "large breeds" and was described as "tough" it would be a good toy for my 8month old German Shepherd. I was WRONG. He destroyed it in one day. Not worth $14.99
I, Max, really enjoy playing with Moose. I play toss and catch and tug aware with my mom and my sister Bella who is my age as well. Bella really likes moose and carries it with her. very sturdy rope for us to play tug aware with as well.
This toy has rope inside it so even once the outer layer has been destroyed, the toy is still usable. There is a bit of stuffing which my dogs enjoy pulling out with their teeth, but only a little so it's easy to clean.
for being a "tough" toy, my border collie pulled it apart in seconds. Terribly disappointed in the structure, the antlers and ears came off so quickly that it seems they were only held by a single stitch. "Tough Toy" it's NOT!!!
My 11 month old German Shepherd destroyed this in less than an hour. He is part dinosaur and plush toys don't stand a chance as he's a very heavy chewer. I thought with it being KONG it would of lasted longer.
My dog has had this toy less than a month. The material is ripping gauze type of material. I have been very happy with kong products in the past but this is not living up to expectations.
My girl is rough with her toys. This is one that lasts. I replaced her 2 year old one just because it was getting ratty looking, but it never broke. Her favorite toy!
This toy doesn't hold up to playing tug with it. The first thing to happen with it was one of the antlers came off while tugging, fortunately I saw she had something in her mouth and took the antler away from her. I removed the other antler and both ears so she couldn't remove them while tugging with me. The moose opened up a seam the last time we were tugging so it can't be used now. This toy was not used as a chew toy, only for retrieving and playing tug.
Mosie loves it- which means we all love it too - she brings it to me every evening and wants to play tug-o-war - so we do :-)
Our boxer chewed and pulled the rope from the bottom and ate antlers off; material is inferior in comparison to the orange fox . So my recommendation is not to purchase this. The Fox and rabbit with rope nubs for feet/hands are much better quality!
