Not what I expected, but not disappointed
The other reviews are correct- the material is a bit scratchy and rough to the touch. It is not what I expected to say the least. However, my cats seem to like it. My cats shed like maniacs and even with a few days of occasional use, there is a LOT of fur stuck to it. I would give it five stars if not for the fact the material seems to fall apart if roughed up a little bit. Little stringy bits fall off frequently. Overall, If youre looking for a naturally SOFT cat mat (dont have to put a blanket over it to make it soft), this is not it. But, if youre looking for a cat mat that collects fur and is warm for your fuzzy friend, youre in luck
It's okay - really
Some folks thought this was more like the filling of a bed - it does kind of look like that, yes. Some felt it was super rough, but it's really not THAT bad. If you are expecting super-soft fleece or silky faux fur it is definitely not that. It's got a bit of a "grip" to it to catch hair and things. My guess is some cats will really like that texture and some won't. My cat hates silky fluffy textures (the fake fur) but is ok with this. It won't offer a lot of support but would be nice on top of a sofa or other bed to catch hair.
Wonderful product!
This thing works great! Catches SO SO much hair! It looks scratchy but it isn't. It's actually soft. I had one a while back and my cat used it for a few years. I occasionally vac'd it for awhile, then finally just threw it away. IDK if it was still working or not. I've been looking for another one ever since. My cat loves it. I'm so glad I found it again!
Cats approve
I was hesitant to get this because of the reviews about the material being abrasive. It seems KT has taken the feedback and improved the PurrPadd. The cats like these to lay and nap on; and it does feel soft to me also. This pack comes with two 20" square pads.
Do not buy
Very cheap material that falls apart instantly. My cat laid on it for a minute and easily made a huge gash in the material with his paws. The tuft also easily comes off when he licks it causing him to swallow some which does not feel safe. I will be throwing this out.
Purr Pads are still good!
I have ordered these for many years. The cats like them. I also use them in carriers going to the vet. They are not washable but then they would cost more.
warmth and comfort
I'm not sure they are as comfy as I would like so I throw a receiving blanket over it, but my cat seems to like them.
My 17 yr old cat had an Amputation.
These pads are so simple and inexpensive. Steven LOVES them. No more than ever. So comforting.
Cats are happy
Both of my cats nap on these mats. They stay warm from body heat. The mats aren't stylish but do what they're supposed to
