Works in a 2017 Chevy Malibu
As my pup has gotten a bit too big to sit in my lap during car rides, we upgraded to this seatbelt so she can sit in the back seat. Securely fastens in our 2017 Chevy Malibu! We keep it in the car and clip it to her harness when we hop in.
Seatbelt for Training Your Dog to Settle in the Car
The seat-belt arrived in the mail today and we've already tried it out. The construction looks fine, and I feel safer getting my dog out of the vehicle knowing he is tied in with a strong seatbelt. Akyra is a therapy dog in training (not a service dog) so when I get him out of the car I need time to put on his leash, vest and some days also fix his boots. And while he is trained to wait until I tell him he can get out, it's nice knowing that if he were tempted to get out before I was ready, he would still be safe. The length is sufficient for a large dog (27 inches tall) to stand, sit, turn around and lay down in the seat. I adjusted it so he couldn't leave the seat and come up near the driver. The only thing that could be better is the clip that attaches to the harness. it is difficult to clip on - but it is strong and the dog can't undo it, so it isn't a big issue. Important: This seatbelt will not replace training your dog to ride quietly or safely in the car. My dog tends to pace and whine in the car out of excitement, instead of settling down nicely to wait for us to arrive somewhere. I am using the seatbelt in addition to training to help him learn how to settle down and quietly stay in one place on car trips.
This seatbelt is not as long as I wanted, but works for my small-medium dog. I like the thickness of the material & that it keeps the length you set. The other one I have is longer so it works for my boxer, but it needs to be readjusted for every ride
Kurgo seat belt tether
It worked great! Kept our 90lb dog from roaming the backseat. BUT we didn't realized the buckle has to go in THE RIGHT WAY so the tether is currently staying connected until we can figure out how to remove it.
My dog engages in wild acrobatics during car rides, so we only take trips that are absolutely necessary. I purchased this for a vet visit to secure her in the back seat, and she definitely tested it out. It was easy to adjust and kept her safely in the seat for the trip. It was easy to release to switch her to a leash to take her into the office. Can’t believe I ever had her in the car without this.
Great Option for Car Rides
I bought this to keep my wiggly JRT in the back seat during trips. She’s not wild about it, but prefers not to be in a booster seat. It clipped into the seatbelt buckle and is easy to adjust for length. I took one star off because the carabiner is enormous. Wish they offered a smaller size for smaller dogs.
We have a dog that is not crazy about car rides. We've tried this tether a few times now and it is a great item to have. Not only is she safer in the car, it also keeps her from trying to rush out the door when it's opened. I'm able to have a good grip on her leash before I unhook the tether. It connects to her harness and I click it into the middle seat belt. She's able to go to the windows on either side or lay down. She is not able to try and get into the front seat. Highly recommend this for dogs who aren't the best riders!
Dog seat belt
This belt would be good for a medium to large dog. I wanted a restraint for my beagle but the buckle is too large and heavy for her.
I've had one of these for several years. We just rescued a new dog so had to get a second one. I tried other brands and types but this one is easiest to use so I came back to it. I am going to buy a couple of more for the second vehicle.
Seat Belt Tether
It is a functional, well-made product. It keeps my four legged pal secure in his seat on our pleasure drives.
