Did not work!
Did not work in my Mitsubishi or my parent’s Acura. I returned one and the other I have strapped the seatbelt through the loop. This only works part of the time. It would be best if it had a clip to the loop where you clip in a car seat. I used to use the one with the loop through the seat belt. My new dog is more active and pushes on the seatbelt release more. This might be better for a dog that won’t be moving around a lot.
Not quite long enough
My new 38 pound poodle likes to move around in the car so I thought this would be a good purchase. However, he still tries to go to the floorboard, and when he lays down on the floorboard he about chokes himself out. I need something a little bit longer. I did notice the seatbelt twisting a quite a bit as well.
Broke Within 2 Months
This is the second of these harnesses I have purchased and both have snapped from standard use. I will admit that the first one lasted roughly 2.5 years, but the one i purchased Jan 2023 only made it a couple months. I can not imagine this would hold up well in the event of an actual accident. It was used maybe 4 times a month tops, and consistently with a full harness. My dog is a 7 year old 50lb Aussie whom I have never once witnessed chew the belt and is not particularly rambunctious in the car. Both times it snapped at the middle of the nylon strap, not the stitching or the buckle.
Great Seatbelt
I purchased this seat belt for my last doggie years ago and loved it. We just got a new puppy and I purchased this again - so we have one in each car. I still have my last doggie's seatbelt and it's still as strong as this new one I purchased. I drove a lot with my doggie and it never once unhooked, it's not unraveled - very long lasting. I always felt he was safe and very well secured. Will never purchase a different brand.
Dangerous !!!
Got these for road trips, have only today used them. Buyers and potential buyers should know that there is NO swivel on these, and therefore as your pup moves around and adjusts position in their seats, this tether binds up and has the deadly potential to strangle your precious companion!! I will NOT use these again, not will I donate them, they are trash!!!
Excellent canine seatbelt
The thought of my dog being unsecured and thrown about if I were to stop short or be in an accident motivated me to use this wonderful and easy to use canine seat belt. She does not chew or roam in the back seat and lies quietly and this allows her to do that. I bought an extra just in case. Great quality and good price. Easy to use and fit in my Subaru Legacy seatbelt clip. Thanks Chewy.
Great Purchase
My dog is a busy body in the car, constantly moving about and going between front and back seat. With this on she stayed firmly in the back seat, gave her just enough length to get some head pats from me without allowing her to climb into the front seat. She was very calm with this on, she didn’t even try to chew on it (which is odd for her). This has made taking her for rides and trips much easier and more fun for us all!
I've seen better
Only giving this 3 stars because there is no swivel portion to this, so if your dog walks around the seatbelt is going to get SUPER twisted and then your dog is constrained and can't move at all
Seat Belt Tether didn't last an hour
Saw a lifetime warranty and thought this was the seat belt tether for me! Sadly, my beagle managed to chew her way through the belt and destroy it in less than an hour, leaving her free roaming in my car. Not an ideal situation! This tether is not appropriate for chewers and I should have read the warranty details more carefully before purchase, only good on workmanship.
Works great on most car seatbelts.
Love this for keeping my puppy safe and contained in the backseat. Only problem is this does not fit a seatbelt style that has a built in seatbelt and is larger.
