Instructions

The air pump should be installed by following either of the two recommended methods:

  1. Place the air pump on a surface lower than the water level of the aquarium. To avoid damage from accidentally spilled water, do not place the air pump directly below the aquarium. Important: It is highly recommended to always use a Check Valve (sold separately) in the airline between the air pump and the aquarium. The Check Valve will help prevent water from siphoning out of the aquarium through the air hose and into the pump in the event of a power failure, or when removing filters and other air-driven accessories from the aquarium.

  2. Place the air pump on a surface higher than the water level, such as a shelf. The surface should be at least 12 inches (30 cm) higher than the water level of the aquarium, but not be positioned directly above the aquarium. The surface should have a raised edge to prevent the air pump from sliding off. Use a Check Valve (sold separately) in the airline between the air pump and the aquarium to prevent back-siphoning.

    Disappointed

    By on

I purchased this air pump less than two months ago and it is already broken. I was trying to remove the air line from the stems of the pump when both stems ended up breaking off. Until then I had been pleased with the power and quietness of it. The stems broke very easily and without much twisting to take the tubing off. I would not recommend this air pump unless they address that issue.

    Tubing Not Included

    By on

This is the first time I have ever been unsatisfied with a product from Chewy. I didn’t check reviews or extra questions, so I guess it’s partially my fault, but it doesn’t say anywhere in the description that the tubing it not included. I’m now having to wait even longer and pay for shipping again just to get this set up.

A product with no hose to connect it to. Ridiculous having to put hose separately

    Air tubing not included

    By on

It's very frustrating when you buy something that you cannot use because some essencial parte of it is missing. There was no noticing that the air tubing wasn't included. Aquarium is something that requires some urgency, so it doesn't worked for me. To buy the missing part I have to place another order, and pay for shipping. I had to go to another store.

    Bubbles would not be impressed

    By on

We bought the 50 for a <10 gal tank. It barely has a continuous flow. Fairly quiet, even if it is unimpressive. Should've sized up.

    Price good/Have used better

    By on

I bought the Size 50, that goes up to 15 Gallon Air Pump. The price for under $5.00 makes me overlook that short comings of this Air Pump. The short comings are: 1. It is a bit noisy. 2. The cord is short. 3. This air pump would not be able to run an undergravel filter, a little weak. Still, when I wrapped it in foam, I go it quieter and was able to use it.
