Marineland Black Diamond Activated Carbon Filter Media eliminates discoloration, odors and impurities for sparkling clean water, and continues to do so long after other carbons quit. These heat-activated bituminous coal-based Black Diamond granules are specially sized for optimum effectiveness and are ideal for all aquarium filters. They work twice as fast and are far more efficient than coconut, wood or peat-based carbons.

I found it to work with the zerolite white chip and made what you sold them last month at a different online store 50 oz of zeolite.
Get your delivery straightened out. 5 extra days don't work out for me. Sort it or abort it. I'll go elsewhere next time.
This media really works great. I add a little bit to my filter to augment the screen filter. The water stays crystal clear.
Use this in all my filters! Tutle, fish and pond. Only negative is you can not just place in filters. It has to be in a filter bag or sock.
This brand of premium activated carbon was delivered promptly. The rep gave me a choice of sizes and price.
i a very happy with my purchase I will be back when i need something
Like one other reviewer wrote, I don't think this charcoal is truly activated. If so, it is exceptionally WEAK! This product also comes without a seal. Besides that, Chewy has been a pleasure to work with and getting this amount shipped out would cost more than 6 times the price any where else (although quality MIGHT just be better elsewhere). I bought 2. I'm on my third shipment of two and will find a way to use it - although not for the purpose I intended. Customer service is GREAT!!! I MUST STRESS THAT. I might not recommend this to a friend since it doesn't seem to perform like activated charcoal I have used in the past. To be fair, I used carbon from coconut and this likely came from another source. If someone I knew was in a pinch, then yes, I might tell them about this product (due to the price per quantity) while explaining what my experience was.
its carbon, what ya need a review for? micro orifices trap impurities, im sure there's more scientific explanation of active charcoal and various types like coconuts. remove chemicals ... not a scientist all i can tell You is that it works! I have a canister on 1 tank and a penguin for other tank that i got rid of the premade cartridge and got 2 after market inserts to make my own filtration media ...way cheaper usually buy 5lb bags at a time off web but when it was time to clean filters my supply was just enuf for the penguin and Chewy shipping is way faster than waiting a week! the Marineland Activated Carbon seems to work great at a slightly higher price maybe 2 or 3 bucks , im 2 weeks past my normal clean out and water is still crystal clear... yup good product may just stick with this brand who knows what ya get off the web, price wish it was a bit cheaper but ohhh went to wash the dust off and the water ran clear! the stuff i use is just black and takes a while to run clear, never looked but must be pre washed? defiantly a bonus!!! well, time to get busy vac n filter clean 2 thumbs up hope the info helps
I'm using this carbon in a terrarium that I'm still setting up.
The experience was good so far and so is the new fillter.
