Place the charcoal in a media bag or media basket and rinse thoroughly in cold water to eliminate dust.

Can this activated carbon be used to clean and remove chlorine in drinking water?

This filter media is not designed to be used with drinking water filtration. This would effectively filter heavy metals and compounds from water, but it will not provide any biological filtration.

Can you use this for a koi pond?

This can be used in a pond. Typically, the recommendation is 1/2 cup per 10 gallons of water. Keep in mind, carbon removes some large organic molecules, medications, chlorine, pollutants and toxins, as well as many other types of chemical elements and compounds, but must be changed frequently for full benefits.

Like all carbon, it's important to rinse it, but I do find this carbon to take a bit of extra rinsing over some of the more premium options, but again for the price, a little extra rinse isn't that big of a deal.

I've been buying Chewy's grass cat litter. I have one cat that doesn't adjust well to change & I believed she was refusing to use the litter because it develops a slight odor after a few days of use. It isn't necessarily an unpleasant odor, but I thought my cat was unhappy with the litter for that reason. I got this to mix with the litter to keep the litter more fresh-smelling & it did the trick. I buy it regularly now & add it to their litter. If you decide to do this too, just be careful not to use too much, as it contains some dust & will leave marks on the carpet. A small sprinkling over the litter is really all that's needed to keep it fresh & using it that way doesn't cause stains.
