Compounding is a way for licensed pharmacists to create a customized medication that meets your pets specific needs. Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:
Always talk with your veterinarian about any concerns you have about your pets health so they can prescribe a treatment for your pets unique needs.

I normally buy the tablets (really inexpensive on Chewy compared to our vet.) We have used the tablets, the ear cream, and these chews. I prefer dosing the tablets and now the chews. We bought a small supply to check out if our cat would eat them. We are going on an extended vacation and wanted to spare the cat and the Pet Sitter the hassle of trying to pill our cat. The cat loves them. They are pricier than the tablets, so we will use them while we are away. We had previously used a different local Pharmacy to compound meds for another cat. Their compounding left something to be desired as the compounded medication was not blister packed or dosed properly. Within a few days, the medication was dried out and crumbly. This med is blister packed and stays moist. Note it has an expiration date. It would be nice if it was in a 2.5 mg chew. (I have to give 2 chews for correct dosage.)
My cat hated taking the liquid medicine, so we tried the chew treats. He loves them. This finally makes giving him his medicine easy. He's had no problems with these which is great since he has skin/allergy/gut issues.
My cat thinks this chewy is fantastic. However, as the owner, I would love to see this chewy available in a 2.5 mg chew.
My cat loves these. Her original prescription came from another company and it was a soft chew that was hit or miss on her taking them. I always worried. Her old place could not fulfill her last order so I tried Chewy. Chewy is more expensive BUT my cat loves these harder treats. She really thinks they are treats and eats them every time. So while it is hitting my checkbook harder I am going to keep ordering them here. I have read all the reviews but understand cats are very fickled. You just never know what they might like or not. I got lucky and my Gretchen loves them.
My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a few months ago and his vet gave me three options to treat him - pills, liquid meds, or compound cream/ear. Well, there's no way my cat would take a pill (even with a pill pocket, he would just eat around it), it would be a twice daily struggle to try to get liquid meds down, so I went with the compound cream. Unfortunately it was irritating his ears so bad he ended up scratching one of them til it bled - and I could tell he definitely wasn't feeling good =(. I knew I couldn't keep giving this to him yet didn't know what I was going to do. After some online researching, low and behold, I found these chews on Chewy... and I could not be more thankful. My cat (who is the pickiest eater ever) just loves the tuna flavored methimazole chews!!! I was SO relieved and I am so thankful for Chewy compounding these meds into what's really a "cat treat" for him. I truly could not express more gratitude. Thank you Chewy for saving my cat's life, he is doing great now!
My cat does not take pills easily. I held my breathe when I laid this down in front of him the first time. He sniffed - then gobbled it up - and has easily taken every one since then. I am absolutely thrilled! No more battles every morning and evening - just treat time.
This is making my cat vomit. Chewy does not list ingredients, just the drug name. Apparently there is an allergen in this and Chewy has not been helpful with identifying what is going on because they don’t even know what is in it. If your cat has allergies, I would not order this without getting Chewy to provide ingredients list first, because an adverse reaction can be devastating. As of today I asked them to find the info and post the ingredients online so look for that before you order. Giving this two stars SOLELY because my cat giggled it up without hesitation.
Cat wouldn't have anything to do with these chews.
Out cat Izzy was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder a little over a year ago. We typically give her transdermal meds on her ear which has worked quite well. However we recently went on vacation and I knew she was not going to let person we had checking in on her put medicine in her ear. Not a chance! So in an attempt to get some meds in her while we were gone I spoke with my vet after seeing these on Chewy. She wrote an Rx for us to try, and I contacted Chewy about my needs and that I needed it approved and shipped ASAP. (the July 4th holiday had me a bit worried about it arriving in time) Chewy was very helpful and got it to us quickly. But the best part of all was Izzy gobbled them with no issues and no prompting needed. So she got her appropriate dose of medicine while we were away. HUGE relief for us. I definitely recommend them and would use these chews again.
Mr. Brad loves the tuna flavor. Medicine arrived on time. always fast and accurate deliveries.
