Unfortunately I had to immediately stop this medication. It worked but my cat has IBS-C and over time this medication caused a pretty severe gastric ulcer. He threw up a large amount of blood. I’m having to switch to the transdermal method and I hope it doesn’t affect his ears. He has an allergy disease too and has trouble with his ears.

Easy to get my cat to take his medicine!

My cat takes this medicine as is, with no coaxing, and having the 7.5mg dose means only one pill each time - much easier.

Gave it to my vet

Unfortunetly, Stinky was sicker than I thought and passed away so I donated the remainder to my vet. Thank you

My cat actually eats them

My kitty is a sassy pants, but will eat these chews meaning I don’t have to chase and catch her to give her a pill she may or may not swallow.

I am so relieved that my cat loves these and thinks of them as a treat. She eats around pill pockets, vomits with liquids, and dislikes the transdermal gels (but will tolerate it). I was really worried that her anxiety and shyness would make it impossible for my cat sitter to do the transdermal medication, as she mostly hides under the bed when anyone other than me is around. Now I can go out of town and know she will still take her medication. I just love that I’m not torturing her twice a day too. Can’t say enough good things about this product. I do use a pill cutter to make them a little smaller. Thank you. Please don’t stop carrying these and make more medications into chewables (had to go through a different company for her gabapentin chewables).

My 15 year old boy hates taking pills and is super picky on what he eats. We couldn’t use the liquid or the topical compound due to handling concerns of a family member with thyroid issues themselves. I get the 10mg and cut it down into quarters, then slices. I smoosh the slice onto my boy’s favorite treat (Pet Honesty Hairball Support) and he takes his meds like a champ. These chews helped save my cat. He did get a little sick at first, but our vet recommended backing off and doing a gradual increase. It took about two weeks to get him up to dose when we first started. After 6 months, he needed another increase that we did gradually. His thryroid numbers are back to normal and holding steady for the last 6 months.

These chews are reasonably priced and delivered with usual excellent Chewy delivery service but are way too hard. They really aren’t a chewable tablet at all. For older cats with thyroid disease, it is a constant fight to get our cat to eat these. They are too large to swallow whole and too hard but not hard like dried food to chew or bite. Chewy please review the composition of these tablets and offer a truly chewable medicine.

The first couple days my cat gobbled these treats up and I was hopeful this would work, but after a few days she stopped eating them. She’s very particular and she knew I wanted her to eat them, so there’s not much to be done about it. I’d just recommend you start by buying a small amount before you commit to this method, totally cat-dependent.

Treat size

It great if your cats will eat it. Unfortunately my boy could smell the meds and no form or shape of the methinazole would make it past his teeth .
