ABSOLUTE BEST NAIL CLIPPERS FOR SCARED DOGS!
By Brianna on Feb 5, 2021
These are absolutely perfect you can definitely tell the professional veterinarians use these as well! My dog who is normally Really scared of stuff like this, remain 100% calling throughout the entire time I clipped all of his claws on each paw. (I may or may not have had him a bit distracted with some cheese, too.) Anyways, every time that you clip down on a call no matter how thick the claw may be, they are still almost completely silent with every clamp down motion. They are very sharp and definitely cut the nails very easily. Which is also a plus. I love these because they have a stopper so that you can ensure Do you wanna go to far back and accidentally clip your doggo (which causes them These are absolutely perfect you can definitely tell the professional veterinarians use these as well! The spring action handle is A1 and was a genius idea for these dog clippers! The spring is just another thing that makes this process super easy and a lot faster. Love love love these! Thanks so much, Chewy!! … more

Sharp but awkward to use, red handles slipping off
By defective on Feb 4, 2021
These cut really well, it's easy to take off slivers and they don't crush the nail. I have found that after only a few uses, the red grip slips off of the handles while I'm using them. I also don't like how the trimmers don't open fully, so you have to place the nail between them rather than sliding them into place. A problem if you have a dog who is easier to trim with paws on the ground, and I've found it's making it hard for my to position them around dewclaws or caws that are close to the pad as well. Fine for now, will be looking to replace with something else soon unfortunately.

Awesome clippers!
By NancyD on Jan 18, 2021
My dogs usually struggle with me when I’m clipping their nails - pulling their feet back and generally not being tolerant. I figured it was because I was accidentally tickling their feet, but after the first use with this clipper, I think they were feeling the clipper go through the nail and it made them uncomfortable. With Miller’s Forge, however, I didn’t have them struggle nearly as much. The cut was very smooth and sharp. I’d be careful to not cut too much because it is so sharp, but as long as you’re careful and conservative, it’s an amazing clipper - the best I’ve used yet.

Defective upon arival
By mehh on Dec 21, 2020
After so many good reviews I was surprised when immediately noticed the defective nail guard. Instead of the guard staying where I placed it, it swung about, freely. I had to use a finger to hold it in place while trying to clip my german shepherds nails, and needless to say, neither of us liked it. After bending the guard inward a bit, I was able to get it to stay, somewhat, in place. The handle is thin and it just feel like it is of poor quality. It works for now, but I'll be looking for better ones. First photo is of nail guard swinging freely, second photo shows how I had to bed it towards the blade so it would stay put.

best clippers
By cherry on Dec 28, 2020
these are the best clippers i have tried. i have a very sensitive dog who hates loud noises and also hates her paws being handled, and this is by far the best clipper we have tried. they are very quiet and fast, so that if I'm strategic about it she almost doesn't notice that her nail got cut. as opposed to other clippers, which either make a loud snapping sound or aren't sharp enough, so she feels the sensation of her nail being pulled on a little bit.

Great Nail Clippers
By SusanE on Mar 4, 2021
So glad to have found these clippers. They are sharp and quiet so they do not scare my dog. Easy to grip and not as cumbersome as other clippers I have used. Highly recommend!

Groomer recommended
By Doglover on Feb 6, 2021
I've been using these for over 20 years. They were originally recommended by my groomer. The size fits my hand which means I have better control. I've tried the various newer models but always come back to these.

Impressed at first then disappointed
By Dfwgolden on Nov 30, 2020
These were recommended highly by many other dog owners. So I bought a pair. At first they were GREAT! Sharp and did an excellent job. But I usually trim nails after a bath and I guess these are not waterproof because they began to rust within a few short weeks. Not long after that the red covering on the handles kept slipping off. I bought another pair thinking it was a fluke but had the same problem. The coiled metal in the middle rusts way to easily and renders them useless in no time flat Also the locking mechanism constantly locks itself in the middle of use which is incredibly annoying

Very impressive for a large dog
By Ariel on Dec 10, 2020
I have an 80lb boxer who needs his nails trimmed once a week. With this frequency, all of my past trimmers have dulled within a few months. He also hates getting his nails trimmed so I can only do it while he is asleep. The consistent problem of large dog nail clippers creating a loud clipping sound when squeezing them shut often wakes him up and I only ever get to a few nails at a time if I’m lucky. These trimmers were a game changer. Being a medium size trimmer, I was skeptical that they would be able to handle nails his size, but I was so wrong! They slice smoothly and silently through his nails like a hot knife through butter, which allows me to get through most of his nails before he I have an 80lb boxer who needs his nails trimmed once a week. They slice smoothly and silently through his nails like a hot knife through butter, which allows me to get through most of his nails before he slips back out of his REM cycle. Unlike other trimmers I’ve used, they feel just as sharp now after several trim sessions as they did the first time fresh out of the package. I’ve been through Epica, Bissell, and even the large size Miller Forge trimmers, and have been disappointed by how quickly they went dull. These little trimmers do not let up. Although they feel quite delicate in my hands, especially since I am used to large styles with thick handles, they are more powerful and require less effort to use. I like how the quick guard can be moved completely out of the way, since I personally don’t find that feature particularly useful, especially when I am trimming from odd angles. The safety stop can be a bit of a pain if you tend to flick your wrist after trimming, since it will slide into position with this movement, but I’ve learned to keep my wrist still and it really hasn’t been an issue. I can’t believe I wasted so much time and money on various large nail trimmers that had to be replaced every few months. These affordable little guys really pack a punch and make trimming my boxer’s nails a breeze. At the price alone I’d recommend anyone with a dog this size to give them a whirl. … more

Horrible, don't waste your money
By Jenn on Mar 3, 2021
Just got these out of the package and the nail guard keeps slipping and the rubber handle slides right off just with me holding them. Terrible
