Where can I buy replacement parts for the sanding disk?

Can tool be used while plugged in? Or is it only cordless use?

What’s the noise level on Drexel?

Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2020
Our pet parents have commented that this grooming kit is very quiet.

Can you tell me if the clear guard has an opening on the side as well as the top? It seems like it would be awkward to hold the nail at the top end because of the direction the tip spins. The grinders I have now have an opening on the side of the guard, but they're weak. Thanks.

The guard on this tool only has an opening on the top.

My pupper had to be taken to the vet to have be sedated at the vet to get her nails trimmed. Last night I trimmed her nails myself for the first time ever. She was still nervous, but the quiet of this thing and how well it worked really helped. We’ve been preparing for this, just intentionally holding her feet and touching her feet when she’s laying with us for the last couple months to get her more ok with us touching her feet. I’m honestly blown away, she did so great and this thing is absolutely worth the money. I’ll recommend to any/everyone.

I purchased this took in hopes of avoiding taking all three of our dogs to the vet for nail trimming (too expensive and a hassle with dogs who get car sick). There is a cover for the trimmer, but I found it too fiddly for putting the dogs' nails in. They don't like their paws gripped, so anything that requires more gripping than necessary is a no-go. My husband and I have a good routine that allows me to trim nails without the cover. This trimmer works really well and the adjustable speed makes it very versatile. I use the highest speed, which trims nails very well, You must follow the 3 second rule in order to avoid excessive heat on the toes while trimming. I just move to the next nail and come back for follow-up trimming until we get close to the quick. My husband holds the dog up on their butts with their 4 feet pointing at me, feeding them small treats to keep them distracted (cheerios is a popular, low-calorie option). This routine works really well and the dogs tolerate it pretty well. We save tons of money with this tool. We haven't had to replace the tip yet, but assume that can be found online when needed. I charge the tool after we are done with the three dogs so it is ready for use the next time. This tool runs at full power, despite being cordless. Very powerful at the highest speed. Highly recommend this tool!

Does decent.

The guard on the Dremel will not go down to the "1" without impacting the disc and chewing it up. I am going to get the most commonly used dremel bit instead and not use the guard. It was more clunky than useful. But the dremel itself works well and is quiet enough my skittish dog is fine with it.

Next to impossible to change sanding discs

I was using a traditional sanding disc on my old Pet Dremel. I decided to 'upgrade'. I should have stayed with my old Pet Dremel. It is almost impossible to change from the 'protected' disc to a standard round disc & next to impossible to tightened the disc. One reason I decided to get a new Pet Dremel is that I had changed to a diamond disc that does not grind off as much toenail. I was able to put the old, standard drum disc on the new Dremel but I haven't figured out how to tightened it. The instructions have many steps but are not easy to follow - at least for what I need.

Works quickly and efficiently

Charges quickly, not crazy loud and gets the job done quickly which Makes it overall much less stressful. Would definitely recommend for dogs with tough nails

For starters, it is so hard to figure out how to put it together out of the box. It could be just me but gosh, i just wanted something set up that you don't have to find all the parts in the box and put it together and then find out that you put the parts on out of order. What's worse is the directions had diagrams that were too hard to see the details. I tried it once on the dogs but I think it was not put together well so decided I would not use it. I couldn't get the nail guard to go on as well. I was so frustrated. Then my friend bought me LuckyTail Pet Nail Grinder because she had one for her dog and loves it. So I use that now and am so grateful. It works so nicely, quietly, has two speeds and it was put together in the box. i took it out and started using it immediately. I should have sent this back but forgot about it, now it's too late.

It's perfect- Speeds low to high for introduction to these two Boxers.

Now if I just have the patience to convince the Boxers that it is something they want to do

The best nail grinder you can find

This is the best and most powerful nail grinder. It’s long lasting, has warranty and pretty quiet for the job it does. Good even for huge dogs and the tiny ones
