How many cups are in a bag?

Answer by ChewyJan 16, 2022
Nature's Diet packages by weight not volume but Simply Raw has approximately 16 dry cups in a 3 pound bag. Each dry cup has 320 calories. The recommended servings on the back of the bag are based on an average dog with average activity. You can adjust over time based on your dog's specific calorie needs. Combine each dry cup with two cups of water. There are 48 total prepared cups (dry food and water) in a 3 pound bag.

A list of the vitamins and minerals please.

Answer by ChewyNov 07, 2021
Simply Raw is formulated to provide macro and micronutrients like vitamins and minerals from whole food sources. All of our formulas are third party lab tested to make sure dogs are getting the nutrients they need to thrive. We supplement Simply Raw with a vitamin blend containing Selenium Yeast and Vitamin B6. Other nutrients are provided through our whole food ingredients.

Is this food certified by AAFCO?

Answer by ChewyJul 09, 2022
This food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO dog food profiles for all life stages except for the growth of large size dogs (70 pounds or more as an adult).

Can this be fed as a topper

Answer by ChewyJul 07, 2022
Some pet families prefer to use Simply Raw as a raw meal topper. To use as a meal topper, gradually replace up to 1/2 of the dog's current diet with 1/2 portion of Simply Raw based on the below feeding table. Mix with current food after rehydrating. To rehydrate, combine 1 part Simply Raw with 1.5 parts warm water. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes. Do not cook. Stir again and serve Simply Raw at room temperature.

I love nature's diet, I've been feeding it to my dog for 4 years, but... in the last few months there have been hard pieces of meat that my dog won't eat. I've tried to contact nature's diet and they never get back to me which is disappointing. There's only an email no phone number. They need to be available for support for their product that we're feeding our dogs. I'd give a three if it was about the support, but it's a great food in general. All the other dehydrated rows are in ground up chunks, you can read the ingredients, but you can't see any hint of vegetables or meat in the little chunks, I'd rather see what's in it. Nature's diet appears to be the only dehydrated isn't unidentifiable cubes.

Cinnamon took to this like it was going out of style. The only down side is, we gave her too much too quick and it gave her the runs. We thought giving her 1/4 of the recommended serving for a few days was slow enough to start, we were wrong. Once we started less, she went back to normal.

Puppers love it!

My dogs absolutely love this on their kibble. I have 3 Rottweilers and they think this is the absolute bomb-diggity when I add it to their dinner.

Freeze dried kibble can be expensive so we try various brands at different price points trying to find the one our dogs will eat while still being affordable. The Nature's Diet meal/kibble is at least a third "dust". I have used other freeze dried kibble and they have been nuggets . Any dust in the bag was very little from naturally occurring breakage. The dust in these bags is overwhelming and when mixed with moisture, becomes gloppy and gluey. I will not buy this again

I gave this 4 stars bc it is an economical way to feed a whole food diet. My dogs both love it. I let mine sit a little longer with HOT water. I found that the powder does make a good consistency when reconstituted. I did not give it 5 stars bc of this odd thing that happened. Both of my dogs developed breath that smelled like sweet corn. I know sounds weird. And I switched them back to the old food>not so great-bad breath>back to Raw>sweet corn>independently confirmed by my neighbor. Idk I just think that's a bit odd. Yes the smell is better...and idk?

I might think something will be great, but my dog always gets the final word. I mixed this with something he is used to and likes, and he was a definite no. He ate what he could cleanly get of the known food, but was just not willing to eat what had touched this mix - period. I think he took exception to the generous amount of cranberry - seemed like a lot even though I really mixed the bag.

Smelled fresh!

Unfortunately, the product breaks down to a powder and the dogs don’t care for it.

My dog hates this

It smells to spice. Like strong parsley and green. My dog ran from it. Tried all types. Still no. And she normally will eat anything

Dog loves this food and it even helped him lose some weight

Dog would vomit after eating canned food (name brand). But now he has no issues. All natural ingredients.
