I love this woodpecker feeder the only issue is the squirrels know how to hold it open and they remove and eat the block . The top opening needs a lock or must be shorter to outsmart the furry friends. I have been using long zip ties through the cage and tied on the to hold the cap on.

This is the second feeder that I bought from Nature's Way. I thought that I would give them a second chance. Sadly, like the other feeder, the metal piece fell off almost immediately. If you don't have squirrels, perhaps you won't experience this. But if any weight is on the feeder, the metal piece on both sides won't stay secure due to low-quality construction. I will return this and find a higher-quality suet feeder that is made in the USA.

These suet feeders are great. I have two of them. They're well made and very easy to flip open the top and drop in a suet block. The tail prop makes it easier for larger birds to support themselves while feeding. Smaller birds like it, too. They just cling onto the cage. I don't understand the negative reviews. These work well for me.

Squirrels chewed the top, movable, piece of wood.

Squirrels ate thru the top wood giving them access to the fat block. SHB aluminum and not wood.
